Could Teague be best PG in Pacers history?

From Bruno's blog, a interesting question. Can Jeff Teague become the best point guard in Pacers' club history?

I started following the Pacers very closely in the early 1990's, when Reggie Miller just started to become a recognizable name. So, in my 23 or so years of supporting the Pacers, the best point guard i've seen play for us was Marc Jackson. No doubt about it. But i think Jackson had flaws in his game - he wasn't much of a scorer. Second best would be Jamaal Tinsley, which is a pretty significant drop off from Jackson.

Thoughts?

Is Jeff Teague the one?

Is he the player capable of ending 15 years of futility for the Pacers at the most important position on the court?

History suggests the answer is yes; in fact, he could even emerge as the best point guard in franchise history. But you’ll understand our hesitancy to make any grand pronouncements before he has stepped onto the court in an Indiana uniform.

His impact here can only be discussed in terms of potential, and we have trod that dangerous ground before. When Jamaal Tinsley burst onto the scene, when T.J. Ford was acquired, when Darren Collison became the next in line, when George Hill was promoted, we fell prey too easily to the temptation of anticipation. In each of those cases, however, there was little to no relevant body of work to base accurate projections.

Either way, good read from Bruno.

Mark Jackson was pretty good. Not many were better. Teague has got some work to do.

He's up against Vern, Mark, and my personal favorite, Don Buse. He better show something.

Freddie Lewis for me. Bruno and I agree on the top three to date.

Bruno is one of the good guys.

When he has a season averaging over 11 assists per game, let's talk.

Vern was a combo guard. Great Pacer but not a top point guard.
