The Indiana Pacers announced Friday they have waived 6-11 forward/center Shayne Whittington.

Signed as a free agent in 2014 and re-signed last July, Whittington appeared in 27 games, averaging 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

I think we all knew it was only a matter of time, but it's now official. I wonder if he'll stick around the Pacers or Mad Ants organization doing something, or if he'll look for a roster spot at another team or D-League affiliate. Maybe Europe?

Spurs will pick him up and turn him into an upgraded Troy Murphy :)

No, it was hard to see why they (or should I say he?) gave him these chances in the first place.

The search for scrubs who make it by working harder than others and becoming smarter than others continues but I do have high hopes for the next one in line: Niang :D

Certainly not a surprise. Wish we hadn't wasted 2 years developing him since he showed no progress and even regressed in the D-League. His horrid SL play definitely sealed it.
