5 games on Christmas day? Isn't it usually just 3?

Nope, it's been 5 the last few years.

If those are the 10 teams, my guess is...

Cavs/Knicks, Bulls/Pacers, Thunder/Warriors, Clippers/Lakers, Celtics/Spurs

Really?

Well, I guess I usually do family and Christmas stuff. I don't remember the last time I watched an NBA game on Christmas Day, so I'm really not the type to get "up" for the hype of a Christmas game. I'm sure the players would rather be with their families as well.

I think the Bulls vs Knicks would make a lot of sense too, Rose and Noah taking on their old team and teammates combined with Wade/Melo are both compelling storylines. I imagine it has to be Thunder vs. Warriors, unless they want to do a finals rematch of the Cavs and Warriors. Celtics Pacers also has some good storylines with Brad Stevens and obviously Larry Bird. The rest of the Western Teams are all compelling match ups for one reason or another. Plenty of storylines to sell with all those teams.

Interesting stuff here and makes lots of sense.

My guess would be (Team on the right has the homecourt):

GSW vs. OKC
NYK vs. CHI
LAL vs. BOS
SAS vs. LAC
IND vs. CLE

In the past, us too. We're at a point where it's more fun, now that grandkids are around. My brothers and I (and their wives) all get along like gangbusters, and we split Christmas Day between my family and my wife's family. So, add that time of packing up, moving across town (Noblesville to Carmel) and then 2nd meals, 2nd presents, etc, and that my wife's siblings (and their spouses) are all pretty darned cool, and we have a decent time. The game might come on after dinner/dessert at my in-laws, but that's usually just the late game. I didn't know they were either double showing games during the day, or starting at like 11am or noon to get a bunch in.

At some point, maybe I'll procreate and add some grandkids into the mix too.

I don't know. OKC and Warriors seems like a perfect matchup for xmas day.

When did Indy last play on Christmas? I know they did in the Reggie and Jalen era around 2000/1 or so. I don't think since? But again, there were fewer slots until recently.

My guesses?
OKC vs GS - clear story line here with Durant jumping ship this summer.
Boston vs LA - Classic matchup, though not as big anymore. Still, good matchup.
Chicago vs NY - Again, classic matchup, especially with Noah/Rose flipping to NY.
Indy vs Cleveland - Possibly two best teams in the East, with a Lebron/PG13 storyline. Can the new usurp the old?
Spurs vs Clippers - Least compelling storyline, but should be two playoff teams in the West facing each other, but no other tough line.

Could also see a LAC vs LAL matchup: battle of LA. Which would leave a Boston vs Spurs matchup, with the long-time best coach in the league (Pop) against the upcoming best coach in the league (Stevens).

Cleveland-Toronto would be logical if the game is played on a channel that is shown in Canada.

^ who said Toronto will be playing? We're assuming based on the photo leak by bleacher report.

Cavs/Warriors

Bulls/Knicks or Bulls/Pacers
Pacers/Celtics or Knicks/Celtics
Clippers/Lakers

So the real Christmas Day Slate
12:00 Celtics @ Knicks
2:30 Warriors @ Cavs
5:00 Bulls @ Spurs
8:00 Timbervolves @ Thunder
10:30 Clippers @ Lakers

Four East teams and six West teams.

So only one of those team's on the poster won't be playing on Christmas, wouldn't you know it's the Pacers, getting replaced by the Timberwolves. I wonder if the Pacers were initially meant to play on Christmas and Bird said, not a chance, I'm going to French Lick.
