Anybody heard any rumblings? I know he started slow but to me, he's definitely worth extending.

Would've loved to see Vogel have a chance to coach a point guard like him...but that's another topic

Will probably have to wait for new cba in July. The trick will be to pay Teague and T Young fairly while leaving room for Turner and George.

I don't think he will be here. He was an all-star and ATL moved on for a guy that now sits and watches Malcolm Delaney finish games. To me they did it because they didn't want to pay Teague. People look at things differently when its money time.

I think he will be back. Like mentioned above both sides are probably waiting for the new CBA.

I can't imagine we would have ever traded for him if we didn't plan to resign him. I think it's only a matter of Teague choosing to stay rather than look at opportunities elsewhere.

One of the reasons Atlanta did the trade was to move beyond a logjam they had in the back court. We don't really have such problems. Joe Young isn't looking to need starter minutes or to move into a larger role to grow.

Imo, the Hill/Teague swap was more about Hill and being 31 at seasons end wanting a new contract. Teague is younger, more durable and just as good or better. Look at Hill's efficiency as he plays more games its coming down and Teague is walking him down. I think they knew they didn't want Hill and are simply giving Teague a tryout because they don't know if they want him either. I really don't think they have or had definite intentions of re-signing Teague.

And I think they do, or at least if they don't then they definitely should. This whole first half of the season has been frustrating at many times, and the most pointed to reason for it is the lack of continuity and familiarity the players had with each other coming in. And the team has made some improvements in those areas over the course of the year. And I think if you go out and grab a new starting point guard for the second year in a row, the team will take another big step backwards in that area.

And the other 2017 FA options at point guard don't really stand out as being huge potential upgrades. Would Lowry or CP3 be nice to have? Yeah, I would take that, but what are the real chances that they even decide to leave their current teams, much less think ours is that much of a better destination than all the others. Teague's here, in his hometown, and has expressed interest in staying here long term. We can build on that continuity. Yeah, he's gonna need paid, but he's also likely gonna be the best piece available to use that money on especially with his bird rights. I guestimate there's like a 90% chance he'll still be here this time next year.
