If we make the playoffs we're gonna have to back in some how. Six games left after this on we'll be lucky to go 2 wins and 4 loss's.

Ellis and Teague is just not a back court that can share the floor together for very long. I still think both players have a lot of talent, but come on. Anybody who thought critically about it knew there was a probable fit problem there before the season even began. 76 games later, and I'm still watching Ellis take spot up 3s and guard players 5 inches taller than him.

He was playing pretty well off the bench though, so we better put a stop to that, right?

I don't know man. Monta seems to destroy both starters and bench units and it's not like the Pacers have won many games when he was putting up decent stats coming off the bench. We just have to bite the bullet because the same thing can be said about Ellis and Brooks or Ellis and Stephenson as backcourts. The only solution is to get rid of Ellis or Bird losing his obsession for ball dominant players.

I forgot to mention Ellis-Stuckey and Ellis-Jefferson. Most basketball fans know that those aren't combinations who are supposed to work well with eachother.

Well the thing we learned with the release of Stuckey is that he and Monta have the same clause so if that clause isn't voided my trading him. Monta might be a pretty good trade chip to a team that over spent. That would mean that who every we would be taking from the other team might be over paid but on a longer deal. I'd have to get paid off a #1 pick to take some teams bad deal so they can release Ellis next spring and save $12 million in 2018.

Better maybe just to keep him and cut him this time next year.

Or try to trade him and/or Jefferson this offseason together with our pick (2018?) to get a good player stuck on a bad team and attached to a more heavy contract. Similar to the Thad Young trade.

I think I will just stop watching away games...26-12 at home 11-27 away is just brutal, has there ever been a team in the playoffs with that bad of a record away?

Doesn't the vast difference between home and road suggest that something more than lineup is a problem?

It does, it used to be like this the road team was always at a huge disadvantage.

I think the reason he was moved back into the starting lineup was because when GR3 first got hurt our 2nd unit would have been Brook, Stuck, Ellis. Needed someone to guard a SF. Not saying it was right but I believe that was the thinking.

Not yet. If the Pacers miss the playoffs, the Pacers should change direction and keep their future picks and tank commanders.
Also this year I haven't really been watching other teams :P

I don't think Tanking is something that the Pacers can do. They've always tried to rebuild on the fly. Now if they do have to trade PG I think the team can sorta tank or be bad for 1 year, but they cannot do what Philly and the LA Lakers have done and be terrible for 3-4 yrs. The fans would stop coming to the games and we might not have a team in Indianapolis, the could end up in Cincinnati or St Louis or even Pittsburg.

I think the biggest problem is that the team is not physical enough, big enough or tough enough, we need a David West at PF a guy that will be the enforcer. If we draft a center and move Turner back to PF the Center is gonna have to be a big mobile banger like Bizmack Biyombo, but he's way over paid. I like Val from Toronto but unless they tear down and rebuild I don't see getting him.
