Nicolas Batum

What do you think of Nic Batum as a trade target?
I think he is a good SG but overpaid. He has also played SF in Portland alongside Matthews. Charlotte could not even make playoffs last year and they are starting to pay such players $20 M plus a year. Some think they should try to start a rebuild around Kemba Walker.
If the price where Monta+Lavoy Allen+ Seraphin?
If the price where Monta+Lavoy Allen+Seraphin+ pick 18?
Me, I definitely do it without the 18th pick.

I think the priority is at PF not wing. let's not give up our assets chasing the wrong position.

We dont have a starting SG. So, how is the priority at PF when we have Thad Young?

We have Lance and GRob3 and Ellis and PG on the wing. We have no one behind Thad except centers and Niang.

Lance is so overhyped. The guy played like 10 games or something. There may be a reason he could not stick in his last 4 or 5 spots. Neither GROB nor Ellis should be starting. Once again, we need a reliable starting SG. We are trying to put together a team that can get to ECFinals or greater. Starting people like GROB, Monta, and Lance and letting them bring down others with poor play is something we did last year and it cost us dearly to anyone watching.

We just disagree I'm comfortable given GRob more minutes and I think Ellis, Joe Young, and Teague all benefit when paired with Lance. Our second unit was a net negative and the big problem was at four. Playing a three man rotation with Turner playing some four is an option but I'd rather sign or draft a backup four.

I would love to have another four but it is not priority #1

Speaking of 4s Swanigan is really starting to grow on me due to his 7'3" wingspan and constant motor. At 6'9" 250lbs. he very well could be the next Draymond Green type minus the assists.

I say yes. If we can pick up either a real solid starter quality 4 or 2 then i'm all for it. Either GR3 or Thad Young can start and it'll be fine, but an upgrade at either position could certainly make us better. Upgrading the starting 4 or 2 should be our biggest off-season objective. GR3 might be better suited to playing backup 3, and the lineup of Turner/Young in the front court gets killed on the glass.
Option 1: Acquire a starting caliber 4 and a new backup 3. Start Glenn at the 2.
Option 2: Acquire a starting caliber 2 and a backup 4. Move Glenn to the bench.
If Monta Ellis plays any significant minutes at the 2, I'm gonna tear what's left of my balding scalp off and throw it at the TV.

I agree for the most part. In a perfect world Thad nor GRIII would be starters and there are a couple of C's I would not mine having.

I assume you mean then to start Turner at the 4?

I don't think you can get Batum for that package without the draft pick. I also think we need to get bigger at PF who that is gonna be IDK.

Thad is okay. We don't need anyone bigger starting. But seraphin and Allen are too thick to back him up. We need someone longer and faster.

I like John Collins in the draft he's 6'10" 240 outta Wake Forest, I doubt he'll be there at 18, but if he is that's who I want.
I think OKC really wants to move Kanter, if we got him and started him at center and moved Turner to PF we'd be plenty big and pretty mobile also. I've heard they want to move Kanter so they can sign Roberson. They might do Kanter and 21 for Jefferson and 47. OKC poster on the trade board seem to think that's not far off.

We better score 110 a night.

I happen to like the John Collins call also and I do agree that we need someone bigger, taller, and longer at PF.

It would be unusual for a rookie picked at 18 to earn a starting spot in training camp, but I'll be happy if we draft someone who earns the backup minutes at PF. I'm less concerned with bigger, taller, or longer than I am with faster.
