He'd be a cheaper and more impactful player than Al, but we aren't going to be able to move Al on, so don't see it being a move for us.
but if he clears waivers could be cheap at least for this year and Wilkins could be dropped to clear spot. Bogut could counter the Adams that have killed us.

George Hill is unhapppy in Sacramento (what a surprise). I’d be surprised if it took much to get him.

Darren Collison, Al Jefferson and a future 2nd for George Hill and George Papagiannis.

Pacers upgrade the pg. I think he’s a better defender than either Joseph or Collison. Shots as well or better too.
He and Vic seem to fit well.

Sacramento moves the salary commitment.

With Tony Parker back in the rotation, I wonder if the Spurs would consider a Thad Young for Dejounte Murray trade. I think that would be a great short-term deal for San Antonio and their championship run, and a great long-term deal for the Pacers.

We'd have a talented core of a 21-year old PG, 21 year old PF, 21-year old C and a 25-year old All-Star SG.

Wilkins starts and gets cut the next day. Avoiding a guarantee or setting up a move???

Anyone as keen on Mirotic as I am? I know Chicago probably won't trade him within the division but I don't care. Would Al Jeff + 2018 1st (no protections) get it done?

I'd do Al Jeff and a 2nd, that's about it. He's not worth a first in any realm and certainly not an unprotected one.

Right now he is about 12% higher on 3pt% than his career average. There's just no way he sustains this pace.

I'm not sure anyone is worth a first at this stage of our retooling. the only exception I can think of would be a JO type deal where we got a young recent lottery pick buried on someone's bench behind an all pro.

Agreed. We still aren't entirely sure where our team is at. It looks like we'll make the playoffs, but another lingering injury to Dipo and we have a good chance of falling out.

Unless it's for an established player, there's really no point in trading our pick since we're still evaluating what we actually need going forward.

Lol! Al Jeff and a 2nd!

That wouldn’t net us Luke Babbitt, let alone Mirotic.

That said, Chicago apparently is angling for a first, I’m sure someone will bite, but hope it won’t be us.

Not saying it would actually get us anything, but that's all I would offer.

A less than 20 game hot streak doesn't change the fact that Mirotic has been mediocre and inconsistent for 3 years. I'm more than confident that he comes back down to earth and possibly hard. Remember how awesome Bogie was to start the year? First 20 games he was shooting 46% from three on 5 attempts.

No way is he worth a first and if someone pays it without dumping a bad contract they got fleeced.

^ Bogie was worth a 1st at last year's trade deadline, despite expiring. I could 100% see us trading a 1st for Mirotic, his defense is well above average and his offense fits perfectly. We traded a mid-late 1st for Thad Young and Mirotic is a better player.

The concerns about protection are valid though, the value proposition doesn't change massively if our pick is lottery protected.

lol Luke Babbitt.

As for Mirotic, i just read earlier today on twitter that Bulls and Jazz were nearing a trade and part of the deal will be Derrick Favors.

I'm quite sure Lakers laugh at this and hang up the phone, but one can hope.

Lakers give: Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Luol Deng, Jordan Clarkson
Pacers give: Big Al, Bogie, DC, Joe Young, 1st round pick

Why for Lakers:
They dump two bad contracts, clearing massive space, making them major players in FA market, allowing them to sign LeBron, PG, whoever they want. They get a pick back as well.

Why for Pacers:
Ingram looks like a future star. Julius Randle looks like he could take the next step as well. Pacers lineup:

CoJo / Clarkson
Vic / Lance
Ingram / GR3 / Poythress
Randle / Thad / Leaf
Turner / Sabonis

Possibly also move Thad for improvement at PG

Lakers hang up the phone as soon as you say the name Brandon Ingram.

didn't wiretap report that the Lakers have given up all hopes of moving Deng? that would suggest that deals have been offered and rejected.

Yeah looks like they will probably just stretch him if they need to. Really there's no point in them giving up young talent or picks and especially not before they figure out if they can actually sign a star or two.

There is a Mario Herzonja discussion thread on the Magic board. Interesting reading. Concensus seems to be he is getting it. This is the kind of free agent we should be perusing. Still young, still decent upside. I don’t think he will come cheap but, what he projects to (excellent skill set for his size, could play either the 4 or the 3) would fit here perfectly. If you assume that Thad will opt out the money it would cost to bring him back would be better spent on Mario.

Hola friends. Thought I'd stop by and harass you good people as the Memphis board is slow at times. This was suggested in a Hoopshabit article and thought I'd get your opinion on it.

Grizzlies: Collison, Bogdanovic, Jefferson, Leaf, 2018 1st
Pacers: Conley

I assume this accounts for Conley coming back soon and looking healthy (personally I think he could play now if we wanted but that we are low key embracing the tank). The article basically says you guys do it so that you get your borderline-all star PG and playoff-experienced vet while giving up only Leaf and your pick (which should be at least lottery protected or so). My thought is that he would fit well with your players and would help them develop, but he doesn't really fit your timeline. He also is from Indiana which is a nice random fact.

Conley's remaining money gives me the heebie jeebies.

In terms of on court fit, he'd be great. His contract though, looks like it would be a probable millstone in the near future.

I think the best chance the Grizz have of moving him is if they also take back some bad money. The Pacers don't have that much in bad money, so I think they take one look at Conley's contract and pass.

I'd rather have Gasol if we're making a win now trade with Memphis. DC has exceeded my expectations and is just fine as a bridge to a younger starting guard.
