I don't see how we already knew this when he reportedly was at an event recently proclaiming his love for Indy. Dude was weak minded all season so I get that part.

Only two trades that make sense in some form to me.

Det: George and Monta

Pacers: Reggie Jack+Drummond

It would be hard to sell Pistons on adding Drummond here, they would probably rather give u Tobias Harris and the 12th pick than Drummond which is not a bad backup plan.

Cavs: George

Pacers: Love

I have no interest in Love.

PG is trying to force a trade, likely this offseason to get in on the moves teams are making. When reports come out that PG wants to stay in Indy, or Indy wants to build a contender around PG, etc., this is likely posturing for trade discussions. Otherwise, there'd be no need to say anything at all.

Lakers are the perfect team for him. Their best players are all 18-22 years old. I suspect that Paul George will soon reach that age too. Mental age that is.

No surprise here. I don't blame PG either. Bird did a crap job at building this roster. I see so many "fans" over on PD pissed at PG for this but they should be pissed at Bird. PG's desire to play in LA has been the worst kept secret in the league for over a year now. Pacers should have seen this coming awhile ago and made a move. They didn't and now they will get even less for PG. That's on them.

Forget that. Play him this year and see what we can do. If he half asses it, he will look like a chump. If he doesn't and gets All NBA, maybe he gets tempted by the money. And heck, maybe the Pacers piece together something and make a run at the Cavs. I mean, not likely, but who knows?

There's a few teams that might considering moving a couple of "expendable" parts for a one year rental, hoping they can entice him to stay around for another contract; Blazers, Cavs, Clippers and Celtics all to mind. Not near the value we would have received at the deadline, but maybe we can grab Crabbe or Bradley.

As a Hawks fan, I think there's a chance we make a similar offer to the one we did at the deadline.

At this point if this is his position I would sit him at the end of the bench and he would not play of f'ing minute in the 2017-18 season.

No way would I take Allen Crabbe. Park PG at the end of the bench and don't even let him practice with the team make him demand a trade and don't give it to him.

I think his floor is Kevin Love. I'd like to think Love could be flipped for better young assets than George on a perceived 1 year rental deal.

It's Bird's fault that we were still too good to get a decent pick?
It's Bird's fault that, even though we didn't get a decent pick, we still got Turner?
It's Bird's fault that no free agents want to sign in Indy?
It's Bird's fault that Lance took less money out of spite?
It's Bird's fault that rule changes made Hibbert useless?
It's Bird's fault that Vogel never evolved as a coach?
It's Bird's fault that West wanted to ring chase?
It's Bird's fault that PG, up until 2 days ago, made statements indicating he wanted to stick around?

Bird was not perfect, but to blame him for the situation is wrong. Everything seems to indicate that PG was in on trying to get back to contender status in Indy. Now he has abruptly changed his mind days after saying he wants to win a title for Indy and it leaked so we get screwed. That's not on Bird.

Good for George to at least give his team some advanced notice. I respect that a lot more than players like Durant and Aldridge who leave their teams in the dark until it's too late.

Something I feared as a Pacers fan would be true but that I hoped might not be. That it was all a lot of media hype and a continuing pattern of news and rumors that any free agent of the past few years was supposedly totally going to the Lakers.

If true... he has done a lot for the franchise, but I might agree with him that each party might be better off parting ways. He has grown increasingly unsatisfied here, and some groups of fans have been questioning exactly how much effort he was putting forth on the court. I think both opinions have some substance to them.

Sit him? LOL. Giving PG a year of rest would allow him to not risk injury in a contract year. I'm sure he'd be cool with that. At his age, a year of rest would probably extend his career as well.
