Official Hate-filled Bashing and Ranting Thread

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Thu Jun 22, 2017 2:37 am

I have a decent amount of negative feelings about the team at the moment. I think it's normal to be angry when shocking and disrupting news comes out. This is certainly the worst news we've heard in awhile. Really, the shock and outrage I've seen so far has been nothing compared to what happened when LBJ or Durant left their teams, but it has been popping up.

So I want to get it all out here instead of having this kind of stuff pop up in the draft thread or leaking out onto the trade forum. I know that sentiment is out there, and I agree with it to some extent. Let's all have at it. Get it off your chests. Do it here. Do it loud. Say what you really feel, but let's try to keep the worst of it here.

I have read there is a guy on Twitter who already burned his PG jersey, but I can't find any video. Anyone have it?

Gregg Doyel does a better job than I can do, actually.

I don't really think we're in the darkest timeline and I don't really have anything against Paul George. There's a thread on the GB about celebrating PG's method of leaving the franchise vs the LeBron and KD paths that leave with nothing. It's a business and if we had traded him at the deadline or a previous offseason without having consulted with him about it, I don't think anyone would have been concerned about the team having done him dirty. Picking your one destination is a bit annoying and I guess the ownership equivalent would be the Knicks badmouthing Carmelo and trying to run him out of town while he's under contract. None of this is a good look for anybody.

The Pacers are my team and they'll still be my team even if they suck for awhile. I wish they'd embrace the tank at least strategically from time-to-time. The PG situation is mostly annoying for having to read the opinions of Laker fans. Paul George himself hasn't really done anything publicly to make me hate him. We'll see what ends up happening and I'll judge the situation then. The Pacers always seem to reload and bounce back to respectability pretty quickly. I think overall, we've been pretty fortunate to have relatively competent and stable management over the years. They do dumb things sometimes like everyone else, but all in all they exceed the league average.

OK hate filled rant #1:

I hope this little sack of whale excrement name PG does a huge line of coke and ends up like Len Bias the day after the Fakers sign him to a $30 million per year 5 yr deal.

[I thought I was ready for it, but no. Not willing to go there.] -Boomershadow
I'd like to see a Meteor the size of a house hit PG right in his face!

If I never see that whining little biznatch again before the end of time it will be too soon.

Wait not done! The Pacers management is horrendous and they should all quit and get jobs bagging groceries at Kroger. Fold the team and or move it to Seattle because I'm never going to another game barring some miracle.

I hate it that I can't go to the trade and transactions board anymore because all trade offers make we want to puke.

I hate it that hollywood invests so much money in (Please Use More Appropriate Word) what-is-my-next-stupid-superpower superheroes movies. Make something a tiny bit realistic please!

I hate it that people always assume I like to drink beer. It tastes awful!

I hope we can confine the rants to this new thread as I'm really tired of reading repetitive negative messages.

I honestly don't hate PG at all over this. Would I prefer he stay with the Pacers, yes? But, he at least gave the management a heads up instead of leaving them hanging and then ditching for nothing a la Lebron, Durant or Dwight Howard.

It's more just that, even in the social media age where guys can become stars anywhere, the big market LA/New York/Chicago/Boston will always be a bigger draw over the small markets even when they shouldn't be on-te-court-wise. I'm not "fans" of them, but it's what I worry for with New Orleans losing Davis in a few years, potentially Milwaukee losing Gianni's after that. Even Irving reportedly wants out of Cleveland if Lebron goes (and I doubt cities like Minnesota and Utah are at the top of his list.)

Really makes you appreciate the Reggie's, Duncan's and Dirk's of the league.

So are you more mad at PG or more mad at the Pacers organization for not doing enough to convince him to stay?I was saying two things all during the public debate in the media about what position Paul George was gonna play.

1. That it wasn't handled in an extraordinarily professional manner by Bird by making it into a public debate. That was bad enough. And that it looked even worse when George didn't end up actually playing any power forward that year. Way to create a public debate with your star player and then lose it...sheesh.

2. That just about any other team in the league would love to have Paul George play a wing position on their team, and that it was really hurting our chances of keeping him around if we tried to force him into a change he wasn't comfortable with. Guess what, he's probably never gonna play power forward for us again. Or any other position.

So how much do I actually blame Paul for leaving? Not a whole lot. I'm not that happy about it happening, but the Pacers haven't done an amazing job lately of putting a team around him that could do better than a first round exit or of being a team that inspires enough loyalty to stay.

If last year 2016, PG was saying I'm leaving if the team doesn't improve to contender level, Bird should have known that he could not build a contender by trading George Hill for Teague, the 20th pick for Thad, and signing old fat Al. He should have traded PG right then and there. If a deal could have been made with Boston wouldn't it be nice if we'd gotten that 2017 brooklyn pick, 2019 clippers pick, 2019 Memphis pick and Jae Crowder and filler?

So I'm pissed at the Management and I'm pissed at PG because he's a lying little bag of bat guano.

Also if I was running this team I'd never pick another player from Californica! And I'd trade PG anywhere other than the Lakers unless they are offering #2, just to spite them, Cleveland for Love, even though I hate him, San Antonio for LMA and if GSW would give up Klay I'd do that. Klay made noise about wanting to be the #1 guy on a team this would be his chance.

Don't understand why Kevin Pritchard rejected Portland's picks (as per Woj). Did he really think he was going to get a better deal?

I mean, the #10 and #26 would've helped the Pacers out quite a bit especially in a draft that is supposed to be all over the place ala the 1996 Draft. Paul George was drafted at #10 and I feel like KP loves the draft enough to be able to find a stud at #10.
