https://www.facebook.com/pacers/videos/10155496748662996/While Nate's presser focused mostly on TJ Leaf, Kevin Pritchard dug into some of the other topics from tonight that are of particular interest at the moment. Some tidbits...
"it couldn't have come at a worse time for me"
"a gut-punch. we had many conversations over the summer about players we'd like to add." - on learning of George's intention to leave in free agency
"We're not going to make a bad deal."
"There’s a lot of options where we take back players, potential all-stars and all-stars, that keep us competitive." - on potential Paul George trade

Typical General Manger PR speak. Pritchard is actually pretty good at it though.
Don't think Pacers get much in return at this point....at least not in comparison to draft night and certainly not in comparison to the trade deadline.

Seemed like there are offers available. Could be smoke to try and drum up interest, but I think there's real interest. I said it elsewhere, but I think Jimmy Butler getting dealt helped us. At first, there were tweets that the Minny package might be for George and I was thinking that was a decent return and weird for Minny to do. It seems like a screaming deal for Butler though. That's bad in the sense that a similar player with a better contract went for deal that everyone is bashing, but it did remove a bargaining chip that all of these teams had. It seemed like every time we'd be rumored to be in discussions with a team like Boston or Cleveland, they'd be linked to Butler too. Now that Butler has been moved, PG may be the last man standing and get everyone's full attention.
Honestly, I wasn't interested in any of the rumored Laker pieces (Randle, 27th & 28th) so missing out on that doesn't bother me. Even if we'd goaded them into the 2nd pick, I'd probably hate the Ball family immediately. I'm sure there are decent Laker fans out there, but the general board is mostly people acting like we should just give them their player already. No thanks. I hope he resigns wherever he ends up and the Lakers move Ingram to clear the Deng contract and then strike out on LeBron too and repeat the Mozgov/Deng contracts with some other C listers next offseason. I'd enjoy that.

the key thing Pritchard said was he has to "get past mad" before he can bargain methodically. I think that's good advice for everyone. I resolve to stop replying to posts from members who haven't been able to get past mad.

Well what i really meant was posts that are all emotion without any substance. I don't recall you making wacky posts.

Biggest thing he said to me is he wants to stay competitive. So, the complete rebuild some would like will not happen.
