The summer optimist believes he's better now.

I guess that rumored discussion about Cory Joseph for Thad is dead?

I know there's an argument for going all-in on a rebuild and he tiny good draft picks, but as a fan, that's still hard for me to get on board with considering the club had never really botttomed out in my lifetime. Even in the MurphLeavy days, the teams was in the discussion for one of those last playoff spots

I'm OK with this deal. I like Collison more than I like Cojo. Hopefully we can find a steal from d league or summer league to help on the wing.

Travis Leslie? :x

But yeah i think this ends the Cory Joseph rumors. I liked him when he was with us last time. Hard worker and plays the game right.

Leslie is a two. We need a three.

I'm fine with this signing. It seems after we traded him, DC found his niche and matured as a player. Who can't blame him from the O'Brien era?

This is a good move for him (the signing process is dwindling) and for us (inventory of PGs out there is slim). Unless he took notice of all of the UCLA people we signed and wanted in on it.

I'm assuming we're bringing in Hansbrough? :D

I wouldn't count it as dead yet. Perhaps CoJo or DC would be okay with a back-up role?

I think the Pacers brass are not sold on Joe Young being a back-up point guard as of yet based on his Summer League performance.

I never thought Thad was in the deal.

I'm not sold on Young but then why buyout Monta?

He did pretty well with the Kings the last three years, considering the chaos around him, not to mention his biggest target was highly temperamental. His three-point percentage was over 40% the past two years. I thought he did well with the Pacers in 2010-12, but he was still very young. His best season came with Dallas--too bad he left.

Considering the alternatives, a solid signing.

Solid signing on a manageable contract.

Apparently the second year is a partial guarantee. Pretty safe contract from our perspective.

I like it! Very good contract for a guy that is still very servicable. I would love to see him come off the bench and lead the second unit

Hard to peg the rotation now. We could be looking at a three man backcourt rotation. Maybe Leslie makes it or there is another deal or two to come. I like Lance as an energizer off the bench but Dipo and DC may be too small. I left Ellis out because of buyout rumors but if he's back he'll get minutes.

I never had an issue with DC when he was here the first time, in fact I was ecstatic when we moved Murphy for him back in 2010. He will be a steadying, productive hand at the point guard position. And frankly, I really hope the staff is open to not having a set starting lineup but adjusting to hot hands and match ups. If DC remains solid from outside, he'll be able to play with both Vic and Lance, as he can play off the ball and make shots, or is capable of driving and making some plays for others.

Also, the contract is very reasonable considering the money that has been handed out the past two summers.

Agree, it's hard to come up with a rotation. DC and Dipo are definitely too small, that's why I want Lance to be starting with Oladipo. I think Leslie deserves at least a Camp invite, looked very good in the first 2 SL games, struggled big time yesterday unfortunately.

Still a lot of Free Agents out there, I hope we sign a few more young guys, or find some nice pieces in the D(G?)-League...the Mavs have been very good in finding talents

I think you are right about the three man guard rotation. Can't imagine you bring your $20 million man off the bench and Stephenson from a talent prospective is far superior to Collison. I've always thought highest and best use for Collison (on a quality team) was as a 3rd guard. We would have to come with a pretty strong rotational wing to push Collison to a pure backup pg.

Solid. Pacers needed a sure thing at the position.

They need to find another PG who can shoot/pass/defend. They can take a risk.
Scouts on the job hopefully.

With a few more good decisions, this team can be competitive in 2017-2018.

Dear front office, please help make the Eastern Conference interesting. Fight!

After seeing that Tyreke Evans was available I'm not so happy about this signing. Imagine reke Lance and Oladipo rotating in the backcourt. Defensively would be pretty good and three guys that can handle and playmake. He signed a make good deal for 3.3 MIL.
