Game Thread 10/6: Pacers @ Cavs

I'm only able to catch the latter part of this game, so I'm just tuning in to find the score 48-59 (not in our favor) at the very end of the second half. Of course we know that playing the Cavs, even without Lebron James playing, is a totally different animal than playing the Bucks team that we just played that was missing some of its key pieces. Sounds like we're letting D Wade and D Rose get to the bucket.
Let's see how this goes, eh.

Leaf with 18 points, all in the fourth quarter. Not exactly against the Cavs first unit, but still good to see what he can do given a chance.

I haven't watched the game (will later) but impressed with Leaf from behind the arch based on the box.

Leaf and Sabonis competing for those minutes will be great. They'll push each other.

Agreed.
Pritchard and McMillan have big plans for Arvydas' son.

If Domatis is 1/2 as good as his dad was he's gonna be a very good player.

Going to watch the game later, but I already have a giant smile on my face seeing that our backup 4 and 5 combined for 5 of 7 from downtown.

We had to trade our best player for it, but we finally have the big men that have the potential to play like we need to be playing to make our mark again. It really isn't that common to have so many big men capable of hitting threes. To also get decent (Sabonis) and good(Turner) defense out of our centers, makes it a rare thing.

Turner is getting his shot up much quicker and more fluid than last year. Thad was active and Victor has better vision than PG imo. Sabonis has a tricky game that might get him in trouble against elite defenders. I like his activity and when he settles into the game more he will be a starter. Leaf is a shooter, but a horrid defender. Hopefully, with some experience, he can mitigate this weakness. It isn't because he isn't trying so there is that.
Damien Wilkins is the new Rasual Butler, but better.

I love the bounce in Leaf's step. He's such a high-energy, athletic player. People underrate him for one obvious reason, but his potential is off the charts.

After the Pacers got Sabonis in the PG trade a lot of people in the T&T forum were putting him down as if he was a failed draft pick, citing his low 1st year numbers as proof he was a flop. But he was 20 yrs old and playing with Russell Westbrook who dominated the scoring, and after Gibson was brought in Sabonis' minutes dropped a lot.

Surprisingly, Sabonis is pretty good on defense, statistically he was slightly better than Steven Adams, but his offense is way to inconsistent. In Thunder he had ample of opportunities to show how good he was and I believe he was a disappointment as 11th pick.
Nevertheless, he is still rookie and if he can become consistent with his shooting he might justify his 11th pick.

11 is my lucky number, Turner was #11 too, Sabonis will be just fine

Do you understand that he's 21 yrs old? Give the kid a break it's not like he's 24 and had 3 seasons of play to improve. You want to look at your own Bruno Caboclo, that guy wasn't even on my draft list on draft night. He can't even break into your 2nd unit.

I hear Sabonis had some ups and downs with his shooting last year, but he was still a starter on a playoff team. Even Myles Turner didn't start his rookie year.

I don't know who was putting Domas down but he was excellent defensively last year. If he gets his shot he will be good, I think he has some Collison to him, and Nick has had a great career
