Pacers Sports & Entertainment finished a record year this summer—not on the court but in its management of Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The company ended its fiscal year on June 30 with $13.2 million in revenue from non-Pacers and non-Fever events. That’s the highest since the arena opened in 1999 as Conseco Fieldhouse.

The success is thanks in part to an increase in lucrative events—including concerts, professional wrestling and college basketball—that use the fieldhouse bowl.

This is a bit unrelated to the on-court product and may not be that interesting to those not located in the central Indiana area, but I thought it was a really interesting read. I know I've seen a few concerts at the Fieldhouse and been pretty impressed with the experience as compared to something like that those at whatever the Deer Creek/Verizon/Klipsch thing is called now. I never really enjoyed the outdoor experience or the lawn seating. This might be showing my age here, but....I remember concerts at Market Square Arena and had been disappointed for awhile that more things like that weren't happening at the Fieldhouse.

That said, I was definitely not one of those at the Garth Brooks concerts lol.
