Game Thread 11/1: Pacers vs. Cavs

After their most dominant victory of the season, a 101-83 drubbing of the Kings, Indiana faces a speedy turnaround, squaring off against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (3-4) on Wednesday night.

Despite their reputation, the Cavaliers have sputtered out of the gates this year, falling to a substandard 3-4 record, with all of their losses coming against teams that failed to make the playoffs last season. With the rocky start to the season, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that the Cavaliers held a team meeting to address some of the issues that have plagued them in the early going.

So...what version of the Cavaliers do you think we see tonight? A team that's struggling and vulnerable to a loss by a young, motivated team? Or a Cavs team that knows they have to give it their all to avoid falling even further in the standings?

Got a bad feeling about squaring off with them coming off some bad losses. They are rested. And the team meeting to iron stuff out. I think the Pacers fall into an unfortunate spot on the schedule here tonight. Hope I am wrong. Got a feeling this is a game where LeBron is going to make a point. Those games aren't fun for the opposing team.

Those games after a team meeting are usually dangerous for the other team. And it's after a back to back.

Looks like so far this new Pacers team is the danger in itself. Of course, then two tough dudes fight, fight is always more interesting :)

Cavs can't afford another loss. They will fight with nails and teeth. Pacers should be very lucky and with minimum mistakes if they want to stand a chance.

These is absolutely no way the Cavs lose this game. They are not going to drop 4 in a row to teams that most people do not think will make the playoffs. The fact that they dropped 3 in a row is bad enough, but after a team meeting, playing at home against a team on a back to back.....yea, we have no chance.

glad to hear you say that as you may have cursed the Cavs, but losing to them on the road in the 2nd game of a back to back is hardly a disaster. Philly and Knicks are improved so it's a tough three game road trip. I'd call two wins a major success.

I didn't say us losing would be a disaster?

Also, you can't talk about me cursing the Cavs, that automatically undoes the curse I just put on them... :noway:

Well...yes and no.

I fully believe we have no chance, but I also hope that me saying that jinxes the Cavs.

I think a loss would actually be better for the Cavs in the long-run. That team as constructed just isn't going to work that well I don't think, not to be at the level they wanna be at. They need to rearrange some pieces and make another move or two to get the most out of Lebron's remaining years.

"0%, but hopefully not 0%"

Exactly.

Like, its 0% before I say that, but once I say it, the jinx gives us like 1% chance to win.

Refs usually put Cavs opponents good players in foul trouble. Smart move would be for Domas to enter the game from the bench. If he is a bench player, who cares ;)

BTW, first triple double for Domas ;)

OK, I called it :)
