Game Thread 11/19: Pacers vs.Heat

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Sun Nov 19, 2017 7:56 am

The energy in the Pacers' locker room was palpable after Friday's win. Indiana has now won three of its last four contests to climb back to .500 and now has a winnable two-game road trip with visits to Miami and Orlando (8-7).

The Heat had lost two straight games before picking up a 91-88 win at Washington on Friday. The Pacers' chief concern will be containing 7-foot center Hassan Whitside, who entered Friday averaging 15.7 points and 13.9 rebounds, and then dropped 22 points and 16 boards in the win over the Wizards.

His teammates were loving it that Lance took over the game, so if he has ever been a lockerroom cancer, he certainly isn't anymore.

Every Pacers lockerroom cyste seems to be removed. Got to love that.

If Pacers play well - they will get a W. Roster wise Heat is not so dangerous.
Whiteside? Pacers have enough to contain him. Though Dragic can win games alone.

Whiteside will be tough to deal with. I think Turner is a favorable matchup for him. Whiteside is physical on offense and is mobile and long enough to contest Myles on the perimeter.

Gortat was toyed around so Myles is no match for him.

Really good opportunity to go on the road and beat an opponent who we will likely be battling with for our playoff lives come April. Indiana, on paper, has more talent, especially with the emergence of Bogey and Sabonis, not to mention an All Star Oladipo. Can Turner keep Whiteside at bay? How about Goran and Waiters? I think our backcourt is going to be asking a lot of Joseph defensively tonight. And we need them to crash the boards to help Turner and Sabonis out. Young is going to have to close out on Olynyk too, near 50% from the three-point range.

All in all, very winnable game, but we will need to see Friday's second-half team from the get-go.

I still don't believe that Wheat Hotchkiss is actually a name.

Dammit Stephenson, stop taking Sabonis' rebounds.

Take Hibbert's all you want, but leave Sabonis alone!

It's fine. I have him on my fantasy team. I also have Sabonis there, though

Yeah, that was unreal.

Our 3-point defense needs to improve a ton in the second half if we want to win and we also need to shoot better from 3 but other than that we're playing well.

Finally getting Turner shots, and he's showing why they need to do this every game.

I remember Myles being elite from the pick and pop since the Raptors series. It's good to see him with confidence, if he's playing like that, this team is dangerous for any team.
