Game Thread 01/14: Pacers vs. Suns

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Sun Jan 14, 2018 6:10 pm

Their challenging stretch away from home begins on Sunday night, when the Pacers head to Phoenix to face a young Suns (16-27) team, capable of hanging with some of the NBA's best teams.

While the Suns have lost three of their last four games, the team's leading scorer Devin Booker is continuing to impress during his third NBA season.

Booker has averaged 24.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, asserting himself as one of the game's best young players.

For the Pacers, the return of Victor Oladipo to the lineup seems to have alleviated some of their recent woes suffered during a five-game losing streak. With Oladipo back in action, Indiana has won three of its last four, as the race in the Eastern Conference intensifies.

Need to win. Need to improve that road record. Need everyone to be themselves. Play like they do (Dipo to score 30+, Domas - another double double, DC - offensive precision, Lance need to dance, and all other Pacers).

I hope Domas is good for this game. Otherwise, without MT and Domas, Pacers are in the deep bleep.

Is Turner out? Reports were originally that he would only miss 2 games.

Having Al Jefferson as your 5th big is a big luxury.

I wonder what it feels like for the Suns fans to see a team come in to their place and jump on them like this? Oh yeah I remember that happened to us last 2 games. :x

We need to rest the starters, give Leaf and co. some burn. This west coast road trip is a long one.

I'd like to see AP and Ike too. but let's not count our chickens at halftime.

Isn't he the 4th big? I guess that you could say 5th big if you believe that Domas plays as both the 3rd and the 4th big.

Turner, Thad, Sabonis, Leaf?

I'd say on most nights (when Turner is playing) Leaf is probably ahead of Al Jeff in the rotation. 3rd center.

Good point. TJ doesn't play in every game but it's true that normally he's ahead of Al in the rotation.

Tonight was fun. It seemed like no one cared about anything. At the end of the half, the Suns hit a three with the guys foot on the line. They never changed it to a 2. Later in the game, Chandler camped out in the paint for 8 seconds and was never called for the 3 second foul... even the FSI broadcast crew was laughing about it.

But tonight it felt like im sure it feels for the GSW or Cavs fans on constant basis. We were on our game but the Suns were not. It was no contest from the very start. It was only a matter of by how much will they win by. When the Pacers got a early 18-11 lead, Josh Jackson had 9 points for the Suns. Noone else was moving or playing with any urgency, meanwhile the Pacers were playing at a 100 mph pace. Was great to see.
