Gane Thread 01/27: Pacers vs. Magic

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Sat Jan 27, 2018 4:02 pm

The Pacers are coming off of a back to back and the Magic are well-rested. On paper, the Pacers are a better team and should get the win, but the Magic are kind of schizophrenic. They are one of the worst teams in the league, but they went into Boston the other day and won. I'm hoping for good things, but can't take it for granted.

A must win game. "Pacers" need a W in the standings, not L. Especially in home games.
Last game was meh... Defense was not very smart and not "stingy", offense - way too many bad decisions, turnovers. Way too many easy opportunities to score missed. I had a vision, how to play effectively against Cavs on offense, let's just keep it as a secret till we meet them next time ;)

Fighting back last night might hurt us in this one.

I find our schedule rather easy for the remaining of january and february.

5 home games against lottery teams, 4 road games against lottery teams, 2 home games against playoff teams, 2 road games against playoff teams including the Pelicans without Cousins. Back to backs and Boston on the road are our biggest hurdles.

Time to separate the big boys from the less big boys 8-)

Imagine a nightmare: Dipo and Domas (two best "Pacers") in their original "Magic" uniforms. I like good nightmares, but not this good. Need something to calm myself.
I want to have sweet dreams for the next ~10 years.Dipo and Domas in gold and blue, and occasionally drinking champagne after the last game of post-season ;)

Excellent.

But I am a little uneasy with one minuscule NBA stat: average points scoring per game. Dipo should be no lower than #8, while right now he is not even in top 10, ranked #12. Basically i don't give a bleep about personal stats. Team Ws are much more important for me.
With Dipo it's a little bit different. I like him as a player, I like him as a good human being. Dipo just needs couple more games of25+, 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+ ;) and improve slightly his free throw % - and he will be there he belongs.
Sorry for my vanity, I just think that the guy, who can score anyway he wants, belongs in top 10.

OK, Pistons loosing at home to OKC 69-93, no way for comeback. Their record after this game will be 22-25.

If Pacers will take of business, their record will be 27-23. You might ask: "Why it's important?". Currently Pacers are #8 in the East, last play-off position, piston - #9.

Pacers schedule for the last 33 games of the regular season is pretty easy, but not let's count the chickens who hadn't hatched.

Let the festivities begin! Take care of the business in the first half. Make little adjustments during the halftime. Impose the ultimate dominance in the third quarter and let the starters and main guys rest in the fourth. But not like 17-36 a game not long ago ;)

Let's go PACERS!!!

Bogie had Domas open moving to the basket, but passing is an issue for Bogie.

Time out. Ugly. 6-14, defense not working together. Magic players left open all over the field, on offense - ball is not mowing for Pacers.

I can't wait for the time then AI will officiate the NBA games. Before that - to be the NBA fan is a pure masochism.

Not surprising. Domas struggled against him back in November. He struggles against players that can match his strength and physicality. This is why I believe he is a PF defensively.
