Coach McMillan will miss next 2 days/Charlotte game

Dan Burke will lead the practice on Thursday and coach Friday.
Nate McMillan won’t travel to Charlotte, will miss one game for personal reasons
Pacers head coach Nate McMillan will be away from the team for the next two days and won’t travel to Charlotte for Friday’s game against the Hornets, he said after they squeaked out a win over a shorthanded Memphis Grizzlies team, 105-101, Wednesday night.
Longtime assistant coach Dan Burke, on staff with Indiana since 1997, will coach the team Friday.
“Coach Burke will be taking over practice (Thursday) and I will be missing the game in Charlotte,” McMillan said. “I won’t be traveling with the team for personal reasons. I will be back to coach the game on Saturday against Philadelphia.”

I always felt that Burke has been overlooked especially during our coaching searches. Glad he’ll get the chance to coach, he’s great and seems to be the head of our defense coaching wise.

So we were told over and over and over and over again when we hired Nate lol.
But yeah, I don't expect this will affect us much. It shouldn't.

God i wish i could remember which podcast it was i listened to, but in it they said Burke never really wanted to be a HC. Larry Bird pretty made a deal with him to always be on the staff years ago when he was sniffing around for a HC job and didn't get it (maybe Utah?) and during the process to hire Vogel and McMillan, they needed to agree for Burke to remain on the staff to get the job.

So, no thoughts from anyone on why he will miss this time? Hopefully not health related.

I doubt it has anything to do with him because he didn't say anything like i hope to be back by Saturday, he said he will be back on Saturday. Either way, wishing him all the best and hope its nothing serious.

For sure. Would be real nice for the team to play a complete game and pick up the slack for their missing coach.
