IndyStar: Reggie Miller remains highest paid Pacer ever

I really just like any excuse to bring up the Pacers players I grew up watching as a kid, but I actually was legitimately surprised at this just because of how large some of the contracts are that get signed these days compared to the 90s. It's good to see that loyalty to a franchise and a fanbase does pay off sometimes.

According to a list done by HoopsHype on the highest paid player from each franchise, Reggie Milller sits on top when it comes to the Indiana Pacers. Miller spent 18 seasons with the Pacers and made a career total of $105 million. While this may not seem like much compared to some of the contracts that today's stars get, during his heyday, Miller was one of the top paid players in the league.

During the 2002-03 season, Miller's value peaked its highest at $12.1 million. The 1996-97 season may have been Miller's richest though when you compare it to today. That season he made $11.3 million and only Michael Jordan and Horace Grant made more than him.

With the money in today's market that is being thrown around, one can only assume that Miller's time on top of this list may not last long. However, until that day happens, the Pacers career point leader (and leader in almost every other stat you can think of) will remain at the top of this list as well.

Jermaine was a close second, with $101.1 million earned with the Pacers. If he would have finished out his contract, he would have made $145.5 during his time with the Pacers.

That's pretty cool, and Reggie's reign would probably last even longer when you account for inflation.
