Game Thread 04/08: Pacers vs. Hornets

If there has been a poster team for playing hard in meaningless games, it has been Charlotte (35-45).

After suffering a 41st loss against Philadelphia on March 19, assuring they couldn’t finish with a winning record, the Hornets have won five of nine games.

Three of the four losses came against three of the East’s playoff teams — Cleveland, Washington and Philadelphia.

Charlotte has a good team, wouldn't be surprised to lose, although I don't expect it.

Two misses and two fouls for Turner in the first 1:30?

That passing from Sabonis to Lance to Sabonis on that fast break, the one that ended with that Rik Smits style mid-range side shot by Sabonis was just awesome.

Good to see Sabonis have an efficient game so far, and like what GRIII is doing. This is exactly what the Pacers need from those guys off the bench. Turner with 2 fouls in under 2 minutes is something he absolutely cannot do during the playoffs.

GR3 definitely looking more comfortable. Shooting the ball well.

Really encouraging first half from VO, Sabonis, and & GRIII. Talk about a luxury if our bench is able to outplay our opponents in the playoffs.

Lance is doing what Lance does, 7 rebounds and 8 assists.

I'd like to see Big Al come in for 4-5 min and bang on Howard with Turner in foul trouble why not.

I wasn’t able to watch but saw that Myles played less than 7 minutes and Thad played only 17. Injuries? Rest for playoffs?

Nate isn't very smart obviously... Oladipo was almoust injured when he collied with Dwigh in 1st quarter... I dont know what is with Myles... I hope it isnt injury... and I dont know why was Lance benched in last two minutes... he was two points from triple-double...

OK, this is getting goofy. They were still hoping for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. How do you think the players would feel about their coach ripping that hope out from under them?

I dont know what is with Myles... I hope it isnt injury...

Then you obviously didn't see the game. Turner was a foul magnet in the few minutes he played. Given five more minutes he would likely have fouled out. Yeah, he was that bad. Good thing Domas was having a career night, so Turner's absence was not as harmful as it could have been.

How did you miss that while making such astute observations on Nate's coaching decisions?

and I dont know why was Lance benched in last two minutes... he was two points from triple-double...

Lance was sent to the bench because he was playing selfishly, chasing that triple double. He cost his team on numerous trips down the court. Fortunately, the Pacers' "not very smart" coach was smart enough to see him putting the game into some amount of jeopardy and put Lance's butt on the bench.

Once again, did you not actually watch the game?

By the way, in your first line about someone else not being very smart, you made spelling errors three times.

While I understand the impulse to respond to negativity, let's please not resort to personal attacks. There is going to be a range of opinion, positive or negative, on any topic.

1. What hope? Cavs plays 2 time against Knicks... There is no chance that we could pass them... only what we could get is injury... and that is not smart decision...

2. Myles played 6 minutes... I didn't miss nothing... I watched stream... I had no informations what's happening on the bench... so I have right to ask some question... only positive thing is that Myles was rested yesterday...

3. We were playing game that ment nothing to us... so he should let Lance to make TD... who knows when he will have another opportunity...

4. Wow... some smarter guys here realised that I'm not from USA... I use English only on this forum... I speak German to...and I'm not from Germany... I Know that I have spelling errors... but I dont care... everybody understand me quite well... and that is fine to me...

We have some different opinions... nad that's fine... there is no need to go on personal level... let's talk about Pacers... i'm not satisfied with Nate's decisions... I dont think that he is dumb or something... I just think he need to rest startes...

I'm on vacation in Germany and didn't see the game. I did notice that in Toronto Nate saw the game was out of hand and no starter got more than 25 minutes. I have no trouble with Nate maintaining discipline at the end of the game even though the result was unlikely to matter in the final standings.
