I don't mind it being a 1-year contract. Can be used as an expiring in a trade with teams looking to create some cap space.

So did we just sign a more expensive, often injured Lance?

I am not so sure what to feel about a 1-year deal. Mixed thoughts though I generally like the signing.

Good thing is that he'll technically be on a contract year and he could use this season to "audition" and get paid more than $12 million after this season, meaning the chances of him playing great are good. Good thing that the Pacers could gauge his health before "hopfeully" committing to him long-term. Good that he is actually better than Lance, but at almost triple the price.

Bad that he adds into the free agency issues we'll have next season if he pans out great, with the Collison, Bogdanovich, Young, and Joseph situations. Myles' situation should also be in consideration.

Sumner should learn a thing or two from Evans. They are of the same mold in terms of playing style.

any chance the rotation changes to be

1) Evans, Collison, Holiday
2) Oladipo, CoJo, Evans
3) Bogie, McBuckets, Evans
4) Thad, Sabonis,Leaf
5) Turner, Sabonis, Ike (or FA)

inactive Poythress, Alize, Ike (if FA 5 signed)
2 way Moore, Sumner

I know Pacer fans love Lance, but you have to be objective. They're two different caliber players.

2017-18:
Lance - 9.2 ppg (42.7% FG, 28.9% 3PT, 66.1% FT), 2.9 apg
Tyreke - 19.4 ppg (45.2% FG, 39.9% 3PT, 78.5% FT), 5.2 apg

when Dipo was injured, Lance started. we went 0-8 and Lance had a +/- of -25 according to Dakich. overall his +/- was a small negative on a winning team. Evans had a small positive +/- on a losing team.

I was unhappy when Lance got declined, but I do think this makes the team almost certainly better

He is without any doubt an upgrade compared with Lance, but I do hope he will have one of his best seasons for us next season.

If he plays like he has played most of his career, he isn't much of a difference compared with Lance.

But let's stay optimistic and belief in him :)

Welcome Tyreke :)

How about

DC / Cojo
Vic / McDermot
Evans / Bojan
Leaf / Thad
Myles / Domas

It seems odd to start Vic and Evans together, but the idea is to take pressure off Vic by pairing him with another creator/shooter

Starting both Leaf and Myles should create plenty of space/shooters for both Vic and Evans work with

Thad with his experience and hustle is going to be the 6th man, subbing in to stabilize things whenever needed

Bojan and McDermot off the bench gives Pacers two shooters who they can call upon, giving them more flexibility

So you want to make Leaf a starter on a playoff team. How about we check how he does in the summer league first. It's true that he's a good floor spacer, but he might get completely decimated by the other starting 4s.

I like your thinking kind off, but I have one obvious counter: Who creates off the bench?

I would love to see Domas and Myles start together. The sooner, the better

Who is going to set them up and get them the ball? That is why I think Evans needs to be with the second unit. As time goes on, maybe Holiday can do some of that.

Feel like Evans has to be a sixth man. Without him off the bench, there is little scoring on the second unit. I think he’ll for the most part take over Lance’s role.

I believe Evans is ideally a back-up to Oldadipo. And a reserve as someone who can run that 2nd unit with Joseph, McDermott, Sabonis.

Collison / Joseph / Holiday
Oladipo / Evans
Bogdanovich / McDermott / Evans
Young / Sabonis / Leaf
Turner / Sabonis / Anigbogu

I don't care who starts in the frontcourt however i prefer that Domas finishes while averaging at least 30 mpg. Double-doubles would be constant.

Tyreke adds a ton of versatility as he can start 1-3 or sub 1-3. Nate's got his work cut out for him figuring this out.

McDermont is not a SG. And you really contemplate starting Leaf? He's not an NBA player based on what we saw last year, he'd be the weakest PF in the NBA. He needs to grow and put on muscle, I don't see him helping the team at all in 2018-19.

Like the signing.

Overall good offseason so far. T.Evans,D.McDermott,A.Holiday seems to be overall upgrade over Lance,GRIII,J.Young.

Would have liked to add a piece to our core this offseason, but dont think those moves were available to us.
