knick fan coming in peace: he's a good signing and already has chemistry with Doug McDermott and Oladipo, so it should be fun.

His passing skills never seemed to be fully utilized in NY, but he can find backdoor cuts like no tomorrow.

Otherwise he grabs a ton of boards, hustles, and plays solid defense for the most part outside of dumb fouls. He has a jumpshot, but can't let him go trigger happy shooting them.

Other than that, he's a good guy off the court, so you'll see him do a lot of stuff like supporting the G-League and WNBA squads every now and then.

I actually wished he stayed in NY and he probably should have opted in, but we're kinda moving in a different direction. You'll enjoy him

A solid rebounder, rim protector, and can score around the basket. Should be a nice stop gap if an injury takes place. Im still hoping that Leaf is the all around player I believe him to be. If Leaf can be a utility knife player in the mold of Boris Diaw, then O'Quinn only plays spotty minutes in injury relief or matchup based.

He was on my very short list. He is very productive and doesn't need a lot of shots. Interested to see how we utilize him...seems like he will get more than the Jefferson / Leaf minutes, but we find ourselves again with a ton of (too much maybe) depth.

Time to send a 3-for-1 to make an upgrade on the wing. Leaf/Bojan/Thad for Butler anyone?

Thad is a key part of chemistry but Butler is special.

You will love our KOQ.

Bonus to his quality minutes is his humor. Great passing for a big man, always hit McBuckets in stride. McB is a good cutter, always in motion. They played well together.

I think it there's a trade coming, it'll more likely be for a significant upgrade at PG or SF on a multi-year deal, rather than an expiring. I would love to see a trade for a top-notch point guard, personally. But outside of Kemba, I don't know who that would be. I've heard people talk about Otto Porter a lot, but his contract is way overpriced for his production, IMO. But having such a deep team would certainly allow us to move a piece to two for a team that wants to clear cap space next season.

Oh, and I definitely like the O'Quinn signing. Solid back-up big.

not PG. we've got the possibility of a really strong back court going forward with Oladipo and Tyreke. eventually we will upgrade SF but I expect we'll be patient and explore the free agency market next summer when Collison and Bogie and CoJo and Thad all expire.

There's a lot of flexibility with Tyreke. He can play PG, SG, or SF, and would be fine as a starter or reserve. Plus, he's on a one-year deal, so if we come across a team that wants to move a All Star level player at either PG or SF on a multi-year contract, we can easily plug'n'play Tyreke wherever he fits this year and move on next summer if we need to.

I usually go back to looking to acquire a better PG because I think Bojan is a good enough role player at SF that you can win with him. I don't feel as confident in Collison, even though I do like him.

I'm comfortable with Reke and Vic at guard going forward. I don't think it matters who you call the point guard if both can bring the ball up court under pressure. 1-2 switches shouldn't be a problem on defense either.

Fair enough. If Tyreke works out well, he and Vic could be a strong duo, and looking to upgrade the SF position significantly would probably be the way to go.

thanks. we're pretty happy right now. O'Q and McB are singles and Reke is at least a double. we needed rebounding and shooting and it looks like we got it. now if Holiday, Alize, and Leaf show something in the summer league, we'll be ecstatic.

I think this is the big backup plan if Leaf doesn’t turn out this year. If Leaf still won’t be good enough to handle serious minutes there’s a big hole at the 4 position. O’Quinn is more than capable of soaking up those minutes.

By the way, isn’t the room exceptiOn up to two years? This is another case that I wish we had a longer deal
