I'd heard her as a guest on some podcasts but she didn't stand out there like she did in this article. This was real quality analysis - much more specific discussion of X's and O's than the previous "can they play together" articles I've seen. I've thought for a while that having them play together is more of a challenge for the coaches than the players, and here we see the kind of sophisticated play book analysis that the coaches should be undertaking to make it work.

Thank You Scoot. Great read. It was mostly offense. Defensively, could it work? Is the author saying we just need to make the offense more efficient to overcome the defensive problem? Myles and Sabonis are not stiffs either one, so I think we could survive on defense. On offense, could Myles could become as valuable as a Thad Young? Myles just doesn't bring much to the offense.

It's just strange, when somebody states that two young, skilled, developing bigs can't co-exist on the floor together.

I think that they could both complement each others game very well on offense. And defense? They are both good defenders, in the team defense concept.
If Myles is starting and Domas comes of the bench, like it or not, Pacers put themselves in a disadvantage. We all know, who Thad Young is. But we don't know, who Myles and Domas will become. To stall either of them in development limiting the minutes on the floor - well, it's just like shooting yourself in the foot. Unnecessary.

On a similar note, I'm increasingly surprised with the intensity of the Sabonis love around here relative to Myles. It seems many would put their money behind Sabonis if it's a one-or-the-other situation, but I can't say I'm sold. They're both incomplete players, and currently a lineup with both of them in it isn't optimal. It comes down to their development - it would help a lot if this yoga Myles is doing over the off-season gave him the ability to play forward more effectively, lol. Having two seven footers out there most of the game would be great, but they've both got to be athletic enough to handle small ball lineups defensively and shoot jumpers consistently on offense.

And maybe it's just me, but the most frustrating thing I saw last season was Domas being entirely unable to use his right hand. If he caught the ball in the post, every defender in the NBA knew he was turning around his right shoulder. Swear to god he could've been at 18-20 ppg instead of 11 if he could just **** shoot with his right hand.

The problem you have defensively is that neither is comfortable defending away from the basket and obviously in today's game it's a necessity. I think realistically you probably want Domas to be that guy and in theory he does have decent footwork and of course the IQ but he's a long way away from being reliable. If it's Myles, well we're definitely wasting his biggest strength.

Either way they're going to need prolonged reps together on both ends of court to make a solid judgement call.
