I apologize if you don't want individual player threads considering this is my second one, but I find your team intriguing, and have a specific question. I come here looking for player threads since we have one for each player on the Suns to post any news, tweets, etc regarding each player so I'm not sure the best place to post the question.

But my question is, what are your expectations for him? Is he replacing anyone? He had great numbers last year....we talked about maybe going after him on the Suns forum. I am in a dynasty league and we have 8 keepers and I need 3s, pts and FT% and he looked like a good candidate based on his #s from last year.

Is he replacing anyone? Do you figure he will play kind of a 6 man type of roll? How does it impact Bojan, if it does at all? He is also a guy that could help me in this league that I noticed.

It's hard to give number values for expectations, but in my mind he's basically an upgrade on the role Lance played on the team last season. Likely coming off the bench but playing significant minutes with the starters and taking up a ball-handling role when Vic is off the court. I think he's maybe the most slept on free agent pickup of the summer, likely due to the team he came from and the team he signed with... We always seem to be in need of someone to create their own shot outside of Vic and he could be a guy to step in and do that.

As far as competing with Bojan, I don't think he'll be doing much of that. Bojan doesn't play much SG because he doesn't have the quickness. I think when talking about Bojan, you should be more concerned with Doug McDermott. They're more similar players, playing the same position. If Doug comes out and looks really good, Bojan could cede minutes to him unless his defense has dramatically improved from last year.

Bojan played better defense than expected last year,McDermott never played at that level and he has a lot to prove before he even comes close to Bojan's production,who is also a better overall offensive player.

Threads about individual players don't bother me in the slightest. In addition to taking Lance's sixth man spot, being the ball-handler and creator for the second unit and sometimes playing with the starters, I think this year might be something of a tryout to see if he could be our starting point guard next year. Both our point guards, Collison and Joseph, have contracts that expire at the end of the season. If Evans plays well, and particularly if he shows any chemistry with Oladipo in their minutes together, I think it's very possible our point guard rotation next year could be Evans/Holiday.

I've seen at least one poster speculate our starting lineup by next season could be Turner/Sabonis/Bojan/Oladipo/Evans.

As has been said, initially he replaces Lance as backup 2 but not backup 3 except perhaps in small ball situations. We expect him to play with both Vic and CoJo and maybe even Collison. It's too soon to know if a 5 man 2nd unit will hit the floor together or if substituting will be staggered.

The hope is that paired with Vic he'll provide a counter when Vic is doubled. If so, he'll be a finisher.

We have almost everyone on one year deals. Evans is playing for 2019 starter's money.

Essentially, his plan is to be the playmaker off the bench when Oladipo is out, and then a secondary playmaker during crunch time when teams will try and trap Oladipo. I think we’ll see Tyreke as first off the bench for an early staggered pull of either Collison or Bogs, him stay on when Oladipo is resting with Joseph or Dougie then coming in for Oladipo (based on whomever Tyreke replaced) and being replaced by Vic then, if that at al makes sense.

If Evans can stay healthy he's gonna have a good year leading the 2nd unit.

He's so much better than Lance.

Agree with everything you said. I like O'Quinn as an energy guy off the bench. He is obviously a big and it is different, but I've always thought he is a poor house version of David West.

To think, we consider Kyle the replacement for Al Jefferson. What a massive upgrade!

Yeah, it is amazing that he led the team in assists vs the Griz and Bucks while being so selfish. Hard to figure out, huh?

So, what really is your problem with him? I think he has done very well.

With his experience in the dribble drive offense and tendency towards it, he’s going to see passes available on the lower wing and into the corner and post. If guys are open behind him on the upper perimeter, he’s not going to be in a position to hit them without pulling a Lance type maneuver. It’s on the first pass to immediately swing to the top if it’s best. Think hockey passes.

He said been impressive so far. Passes well and makes a lot of good plays at the rim.

I'd like to see a line up with Oladipo, Evans, Bogey, McDermott and Turner. Defensively we wouldn't be great but we'd spread the floor and have defensive setups collapse each time Vic and Tyreke attacked the lane.

Years ago I attended an old timers game at the fairgrounds. A way past his prime Oscar played. He played slowly and close to the floor, but his shots went in and when he jogged the lane, he found the open man.

Tyreke reminds me of that old O. the contrast with Lance is striking. Lance has great vision and hops. Tyreke has a much better shot. They're both strong. Lance is an extrovert and it shows in his play. Tyreke seems to be an introvert and his game is quiet.

I have been hearing about this on JMV on the way home from It all seems weirdly hush hush. Some rumors about a possible leave of absence? Kevin Pritchard addressed the team at practice and then Evans left with a Pacers exec? That's what I've been reading.
