I haven’t seen my usual guys report it. Where you seeing it? Flat would be great.

"Unlikely" in cap speak just means that he didn't reach the criteria last season.

Correct - seems like the bonuses are contingent on being an All-Star.

Have you seen it listed that it’s all star team specifically or just inferring? Either fine, I’m just curious if it’s come out yet.

Good move from the Pacers.Myles Turner has the potential to be a perennial all-star.He is only 22 and will improve this season, definitely worth this money.

I think it's a fair deal for both sides.

I know Myles is typically not the fan favorite on here. But, I think the Pacers got a nice deal here. I saw a tweet (sorry I forget where) that this makes him the 14th highest paid center in the league. It is also a similar deal to the one signed by Bismark Biyombo. So a lot worse ways to spend 4/72.

This could honestly be huge for Myles' confidence. I don't expect him at all to be the type to get lazy now that he's signed, but rather be able to play more freely with the contract out of his mind.

So, it’s apparently $17.5m per in base salary. There’s an extra $500k per year in likely bonuses, and then an additional $2m per in currently unlikely bonuses (but I’m sure we’d be happy to pay if he earned them, such as all star, all nba, or all defensive teams ). Also, it’s a flat deal, so no huge raises or balloon payments in future years. Add in that Oladipo and McDermott are also on flat deals, and we can plan responsibly going forward and avoid having to sell off talent via trade in the future to avoid huge raises.

I’m loving it.

Yeah getting all those guys on flat deals is a great move that will really help managing the cap going forward.

Looking at it holistically, Tinsley’s first extension was 13.5% of the cap at the time. Austin Croshere’s contract was 20.5% of the cap at the time. Jon Bender’s was 16.25% of the cap at the time. At $18m average, Myles is getting 16.5% of the cap.

And I'd much rather have Myles than Biyombo, or Mozgov. I expect Myles to elevate his game this season, he looked great in training camp. I was there 5 of the days saw him up close he's much better physically now. Hope it translates into more rebounds and blocks and thunderous dunks.

Yeah Pacers management is acting "fiscally responsibly." If we could have them teach congress how to do that we'd all be better off.

Just inferring. Can't imagine what else it could be... All-NBA? that's a really unlikely bonus.

HUGE fan of this deal but I appear to be Loren optimistic than quite a few on Myles. Well done to Myles, his management and the organisations for pulling this together. Gives us continuity and stability with the future and longer term core of the team moving forward.

I think some of the pessimists were doubting that he deserved 25-30mm which they considered to be all star money. 18mm IMHO is, or will be by the end of a 4 year deal, quality starters' money. I think most are comfortable that he deserves that. He's a happy 22 year old - an age that for many is their age as a rookie. in fact, he's only 6 months older than Holiday. now he has 4 years to show whether at 26 he will deserve another big bump.

I think I'm a Turner skeptic. I just don't like the way he moves on a basketball court. I don't see the physical ease that I think is necessary to really be a game changer, and I worry that he hasn't shown the kinds of early career improvements that you hope for. But, I'm still hopeful, and I think that this is a good risk/reward contract. I'd really love he and Sabonis to coexist.

I'm glad that Myles will be a Pacer in future... now it will be interesting what will happened with Domantas... how much he would cost next year...
