Game Thread 11/26: Pacers vs. Jazz

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Sun Nov 25, 2018 11:44 pm

A sore left ankle couldn't keep Myles Turner from practicing Saturday, and the starting center for the Pacers is optimistic he'll be able to play in Monday's game at the Utah Jazz.

Victor Oladipo (sore right knee) and Domantas Sabonis (right ankle sprain) were held out of practice at St. Vincent Center before the Pacers leave for a four-game road trip that ends Dec. 1 at the Sacramento Kings.

Turner sat out Friday's 111-100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs along with Oladipo, who appears the least likely to play of the bunch. He was able to work out on his own in the weight room but that's it.

Even if Sabonis plays, we're going to need Turner to get a win. He plays Gobert much better and we're already fighting an uphill battle with Vic out.

Jazz aren’t so good this year. Not sure what happened.

Mitchell's was off a bit to start the year, then got injured. Ingles is also shooting worse than last year and they're trying to work in Exum and Burks. They've got a number of issues to address and unfortunately they're in the West.

They lost their offensive coordinator.

I know the Jazz haven't been themselves. But that was a helluva win to start of a West Coast swing against a team that I think will figure it out at some point. Heck any win without Dipo is a helluva win. Myles played like we need Myles to play. Hopefully Douggie can build off last night's performance.

postgame they asked McMillan to comment on the changes they'd made to involve Douggie and he said something like, "you mean getting him the ball?" felt like they had talked about the need to pass it to him more often.

that was exactly the tone. the question sort of asked what scheme changes they'd made to free him up and he pushed right through the question to say we just told the guys to pass it to him more.
