Game Thread 12/14: Pacers vs. Sixers

The Pacers have a chance to pass Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference standings with a win on Friday night. The Sixers had a league-best 14-1 record at home entering Wednesday, but fell to Brooklyn at the Wells Fargo Center.
Newly acquired All-Star forward Jimmy Butler sat out Wednesday with a strained groin and may or may not be in the lineup against the Blue & Gold. Butler has averaged 19.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals in 13 games since being traded to Philadelphia from Minnesota while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from 3-point range.

Butler could be out this week and Valanciunas is out next week. Hope we can take advantage.

I know I said the game against the Bucks was a massive game, but this might be even moreso.

I watched Chris and Quinn too, great game, Thad Young and Domas holding down our end of it. Embiid was tough but in the end the better team won.

Also watched the Pacers broadcast....
Impressive game. Another slow start, and despite some foul trouble we continued to defend really well. Thad has been important over the last stretch and I like we have continued to play an "even spread" team game with VO back.
I am left asking how we think we'd go against a Philly side with Butler. Does Bogie go to him? Thad to BS? I'm still not 100% confident against them as a potential second round opponent.

we need home court. Philly hasn't been nearly as good on the road as at home.

I have been going over to the other teams board and reading what they say after we beat them. Not trolling just reading, it's pretty interesting reading after last nights win to see what Philly fans are saying.

a nice thing about being in a small market is the length of our threads. don't know if I'd stick around if I had to wade through double digit page threads every game.

Yeah I just looked at the last 2 pages of their thread. But you know the Bucks post game thread was huge too. There are just not a lot of us active Pacer posters.

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is leaving Philadelphia with a much lighter wallet. Turner was fined $15,000 by the NBA after flipping off Philadelphia 76ers fans during Friday’s game.
The incident occurred with 3:21 left in the second quarter. As Turner headed toward the Pacers’ bench, he gave the crowd a good look at his middle finger. The moment was captured by Fox Sports television cameras.
After the game, Turner apologized to 76ers fans.
