Game Thread 12/31: Pacers vs. Hawks

The Pacers (24-12) will look to close out 2018 on positive note on Monday afternoon when they host the Atlanta Hawks (11-24) for New Year's Eve.

The Pacers have handled their business this season against the teams they should beat, but they have not been particularly challenged by the schedule in December. Just three of their 11 wins this month have come against teams with a winning record, but the schedule gets more difficult in 2019, putting an adding importance on picking up another win against the Hawks.

Makes it even easier, though even with him playing it would've been an easy W.

no such thing as an easy win before the game.

That's right, no such thing as an easy W. in the league.

I should've worded it better, but still, I'm confident we got this.

Frustrating to continually see Turner miss those easy pick and pop jump shots.

He's wide open, at the free throw line and he still bricks it.

Just don't understand how an NBA player can miss those, over and over again.

Giving up way too many offensive rebounds.

What else is new.

No surprise that Sabonis is on the bench every time that happens.

Meanwhile, Dipo continues to build houses with those bricks.

Oladipo with the embarrassing shooting night, pretty pathetic.

Glad we won, but it just hurts to see him continue to shoot bricks.

John Collins sure would have looked good in a Pacer uniform. Leaf is such a joke.

Better than he has been recently.

We really missed Turner. He's starting to play some consistent basketball.

If he can carry this form home, he should be in the mix for defensive player of the year. He's anchoring the leagues best defence and more pleasingly, he's hitting his 3 points shots and growing in confidence with strong plays at the rim.

Way to go and rip the scab off! I was so ticked when we drafted Leaf with Collins still on the board. Remember that was before the trade that brought Sabonis here. If we had not made the OKC trade and took a Boston or Denver offer we'd have Zero depth at PF right now with TJ not ready to play.
