I’ll take it. May not work out, but a solid move at this moment. He may win us a few games.

Meh. I like it and have always been a big fan, but now we're just pushing Holiday/Sumner back down the depth chart. Wish we had another move to flip one of the vet guards for something else.

On the flip side it will be nice to see how he fits in and if we want to try and keep him here after this season as a stopgap for Dipo getting healthy and then a backup.

So, what does he bring to the team? Just a bit more depth? Doesn't appear to be a shooter, at least not better than what we have. I've read he had an injury a bit ago? And that his defense is not what it used to be?

So, what does everyone expect from him?

Nothing. Every Mavsfan is happy that he's gone. His defense has fallen off a cliff and he plays like a guy that thinks he's way better than he actually is.. give me the young guys instead of him... :banghead:

Got to be an upgrade over this year's version of Tyreke.

Everything I've seen indicates that Mavs fans were mostly frustrated with the fact that he was being paid a bunch to be a roleplayer and tried to do too much. At the prorated vet min, hard to hate it at all and he's a great culture guy.

He also shoots threes (career 5.6 a game, more than half of his shots), so that's a plus given our roster tends to step in for whatever reason.

Not bad. I don't mind it at all.

Matthews blew out his Achilles tendon about 4 years ago, he's never been the same player he was prior. He's a good shooter about 38.2% from 3 point range so that's not terrible. He was a stud defender before the injury.

Solid pickup by you guys. He's got a history with Nate McMillan, and if I'm not mistaken, Chad Buchanan was the Blazers acting GM who signed him after KP was fired, so he'll fit in pretty seamlessly.

No risk in bringing him in.

I've always liked Wes. This is basically a low obligation tryout. Hope he does well.

He's a pro's pro. You guys will fall in love with him, he becomes the heart of a team with his leadership. I won't be surprised if he resigns with Indy in the summer.

From the outside looking in, I've always gotten this vibe. Exciting to hear someone who knows him better say these words.

I'm super happy about the signing. Thanks, man.

He'll strengthen the defense, and add shooting quaility to the team, just what the doctor ordered. He seems to be the Pacers type of player.

Wesley Matthews will be reuniting with Nate McMillan who was his coach in Portland. Though it has been 7 years since they worked together.
