Game Thread 03/05: Pacers vs. Bulls

Post#1 » by boomershadow » Mon Mar 4, 2019 11:31 pm

After dropping three of their last four games, the Pacers look to Tuesday's game against the Bulls (18-46) to get back on track before the their schedule intensifies in difficulty.

During Saturday's loss to the Magic, the Pacers (41-23) played well on offense, but were unable to slow down the Magic, as Orlando posted 117 points.

Since the All-Star break, Indiana's defense has allowed all six of its opponents to surpass 100 points, going 3-3 in that stretch.

So he's not the worst PG in the league? Just too old for us in the future (which I agree with)?

Don't be too shocked if he's back on a smaller deal for 2 yrs. He's playing as well an he has at any time in his career. And we have 2 younger point men, Holiday and Joseph they just need to win the job.

That is a option... cause we have to resign Bojan, Thad and maybe Evans or Wes so we want have more space for one max contract... but I rather prefer Bledsoe or Rubio

Well Bledsoe signed for 4 year $70 million the other day, not quite a max deal so he's out of the question. And I don't think Evans is gonna be back.

Assuming Vic is healthy Rubio is a really, really bad fit here. Our PG needs to be a shooter. Rubio can't shoot a gun.

It would not surprise me to see the team move away from Cory Joseph.

Maybe it has been the absence of Domas recently, but Cory seems to call his own number a bit too often. There are many possessions in which he brings the ball up and no other Pacer even touches it before CJ fires up a shot. It has gotten to the point where you can easily predict he is going "Lone Ranger" on a possession and is obviously dribbling around looking for his own shot. I actually think Nate pulled him from the Bulls game due to him doing that. Plus, he is not really a distributor of the ball.

Yes, I realize I came close to calling him selfish, but as of lately......?
