Guys go through slumps. I understand that. And I didn't get to watch because of the late start but I'm guessing a chunk of holiday's points came in garbage time. So it's not a completely apt comparison. Like I said guys can struggle shooting it at times, but to me the way more alarming thing about Cojo is he has been turning it over a lot. In the Clippers game he had turnovers that my dad would have made me run for when I was in 3rd grade. Couple that with the fact that he is exerting the same type of effort that I do playing Thursday night pickup. His lack of scoring ranks 3rd on my beefs with him.

I do agree with you for sure. And I know he's not usually a "scorer". But the Pacers are not putting enough points on the board, so why not give Holiday experience and gain from scoring from it?
5 of those points from Holiday were in the last minute of the game, but he scored in all 4 quarters.

He's put up 29 points in his last 9 games, which is obviously, not good. But, he's also taken relatively good care of the ball. 24 assists to 7 turnovers. 3 of which were in the Clippers game, as you mentioned. I'm with you in that I'd like to see a lot more Holiday with Tyreke off the bench. But, if we're going to win any games in the playoffs, we probably need CoJo to play his way out of his slump.

It's kinda hard to turn the ball over if you just dribble out the shot clock then hand it to someone else because you're too scared to shoot. 2.7 assists per game from a PG getting 23 minutes a game is not good.
And his shooting has been bad all season long, it's not just a slump. It's a major issue for us. He is now firmly behind Lance's shooting numbers from last season and is neck and neck with Tyreke. His numbers are basically the same as Tyreke's across the board. Both have hurt us a ton this season and deserve the criticism they're getting.
Hopefully the silver lining here is that this stretch shows management that CoJo is not in any way shape or form a starting PG. Which means he needs to go unless we're trading Holiday or letting him start for some reason.
Scoot McGroot wrote:It really hasn't, actually. He shot quite well in October and November. His 3 pt shot fell apart in December, and he lost the rest of his shot in January. He was assisted at much higher rates in October and November, and hasn't been since. Maybe fair to say that his shot, and quality of play, was hurt the most by Vic's injury?
Scoot McGroot wrote:Also weird, in games we've won, he's shot 46% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc this season. In our losses? He's shot 36% overall and only 25% from 3. As CoJo goes, so goes the Pacers?
Some real weird and oddly specific stuff here...

pacers33granger wrote:With how our bench has played sans Domas that's not surprising to me really. Tyreke has had all of 5 good games and they tended to come in losses and Doug doesn't get many minutes unless he's on. We need something from the bench other than Domas and good things tend to happen when we get it, it's just the rest of our bench has been just as poor.
Imo it's almost all because of Domas. The trio of Tyreke, CoJo, and Doug each seem to have a decent game here and there giving us 2 strong bench performers some nights but we need more consistency if we want to do anything. We slumped hard when Domas was out and when he was underperforming.Wizop wrote:pacers33granger wrote:With how our bench has played sans Domas that's not surprising to me really. doesn't our bench still have one of the top net ratings in the league? I suppose Sabonis is a lot of that. we can certainly hope for even more next year. I think we need a lot more speed.
we played their whole team. Curry rested last night. and we missed DC.Vorda wrote:Dallas destroyed GSW last night... only we cant play against them...
