I totally agree with this. The Pacers are too predictable at this point. The rotations need to change..

I expect Nate to be stubborn, but I hear that both Collison and Mathews will sit out tonight's Detroit game with injuries so we'll see something new.

A win tonight clinches 5 and keeps us in the chase for 4. A 3 win week would be great, but a 2 loss week could open the door to resting players.

Collison and Matthews are out so Nate is going to start CoJo and Evans.

Had Nate called me, I would have suggested Evans at PG and Holiday at SG. Unfortunately he hasn't called yet. :o

Now Tyreke is listed as questionable. Might get to see Holiday after all!

and Sumner and maybe Reed. could also see Doug at 2. could be forced into lots of things we wanted to see long ago. just hate it is in a game we need to win.

If we lose this game, we can kiss the 4th seed goodbye. And considering that Orlando game...sheesh...

I know the magic number with Detroit is only 1, but first things first. we need this win for 5th before we obsess over 4th.

At least Detroit is without Blake.

Galloway and Kennard are likely out for Detroit too. So both teams will be short on guards it looks like. And both those guys killed us last game.

Do all these supposed "injuries" this late in the season, and considering the way the team has recently been playing, seem a bit suspect to anyone/everyone? I thought the NBA was cracking down on using "injuries" as a way to rest players, but looking around the league it seems a lot of teams just ignored that.

Tyreke was iffy too. Sit him in 2nd half. Holiday and McDermott both outperformed him. I know; Nate won't do it.

1st to 110.

Tyreke hits 3s but still worst plus minus. Sabonis. Holiday, and McDermott leading the way.

Don't feel bad he didn't call me either. And after I sent him that nice fruit basket.

Yeah, I think that was a must win.

Nah. Just, the incentive is lesser in most cases to play through the pain, and 75+ games and a training camp into the season, everybody is hurting. As teams fall out of the playoffs, there's no benefit to playing through pain or injuries. As playoff seeds are locked up, there's no benefit to playing through, and especially as teams are gearing up for a possible playoff run still to be made.

As for the league cutting down, I think they focused more on "game day" type stuff when guys just weren't announced until tipoff as being out, or guys didn't even make trips to rest up, but not to receive treatment, per se. Also, why they keep calling it "load management" now instead of just "rest", or as Popovich used to put down for Duncan, Parker, and Manu, "DNP - Old"

I'm not sure in this season there is a must win. We just kinda are who we are without Vic. Not trying to sound soft and of course you want to win, but I dunno if there are any must wins.

The NBA focus seems to be protecting the ticket buyer. It has worried about the customer who pays a premium price to see LeBron play only to find out he's a healthy scratch.

The NFL focus seems to be protecting the gambler and fantasy football player.o f course neither situation is 100%.

I can certainly see the NBA becoming more concerned with betters as legalized sports betting expands. back in the day when I played salary cap fantasy basketball on The Sporting News, the winning strategy was to manage your lineup to get the most games out of your players without using up too many of your limited number of free trades. injury information was important.

I think we are learning that we have most of our "core" in place.

Vic/Turner/Sabonis/Bogey as starters. Holiday/Leaf/McDermott off the bench. We just need to find a starting PG with size and is a star caliber player.

That's my opinion and not that of staff or management. :)

Holiday has really improved recently. It seems obvious that the game has slowed down for him.

Damn 70 always had a sneaky suspicion you were Pritchard. You liked some of my posts so I was hoping I'd get a job as assistant GM or something.
