Probably the best game of Aaron Holidays career. If he can do anything close to this moving forward it will tough to take him out of the starting lineup. It will be interesting, maybe get both Brogdon and Lamb back next time out?

I been saying what Holiday needs is legit playing time to continue adapting to the NBA game, develop a rhythm, and learn from mistakes.

I think this game showed to me that Aaron is not a PG in any classic sense. He’s definitely an attacking or scoring guard that, when playing well, can then open up passes out of his attacks or shots on close outs.

Of course, I firmly texted the same thing early in the 1st to my brother after Aaron opened with a couple missed passes.

I'm not sure I could identify a classic sense point guard in today's NBA. Its like they are all on a spectrum of sorts. I"d say TJ McConnell is the closest thing we have a classic pg.

He is definitely a "score first point guard" if he in fact is a point guard or if that term or that position actually means anything anymore.

If he is playing off ball next to Brogdon or Oladipo or whoever, is he the one or the two? Or does it even matter?

Loved to see Holiday hit his stride.

Interestingly enough, Naz Mitro Long also had his moments. Definitely seems like he belongs in the NBA as well.

Glad to see them both playing so well. There have been times I would have been tempted to trade them for (in no particular order) the Marx Brothers, or the Smothers Brothers, or the Isley Brothers...maybe even Dr. Joyce Brothers.....But they showed their worth last night.

We sure are kicking lottery butts.

Good sign of a deep team playing with a lot of effort.

I think the key question is not what he is but what he can become. we can name dozens of point guards over the years that looked like busts and figured it out. many have had to go to the minors or overseas to learn the position. I've not been a big Aaron fan but if he can be a serviceable 2 while he learns to be a 1, I'm okay with that. he's got enough speed and more than enough strength to guard 1's while he learns to be a better passer. he's already showing signs.

I’m not trying to argue of “What’s a real PG anymore”, so, please, that’s not at all what I meant. I was comparing Aaron to real PG’s now, simply our, players that can direct games. Brogdon can do that. A ton of guys around the league can do that. Aaron isn’t that kind of guy. Aaron, to me, and what I mean, is more of a Jamal Crawford type PG. one who needs to look to score first, and any playmaking comes from him then reacting to that to make single passes. An attack and react kind of guy. He’s not going to see the huge picture and make the kind of play that will set into action the greater play. I’m not comparing him to John Stockton or Mark Jackson, if that’s what y’all thought.


And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing either. Bird was trying to acquire Jamal Crawford for a decade for a reason here.

Aaron Holiday obviously needs a lot more playing time to learn his role and learn from mistakes. That's my worry... When Dipo, McConnell, and Sumner get back, where is he going to find that extra time to grow? If he was on a team like the Knicks or Bulls, he would probably average 15 ppg and get as much playing time as he wanted. But he's just not going to get that here the next couple of years.. Unless these injuries keep piling up of course.

Interesting decision for Nate but, if Aaron can be a consistent shooter and improve his decisions slightly I think he moves into the rotation and TJ McConnell is back to being a situational guy. There's just too much potential and we saw some of that last might.

The team is deep. Thus they have been able to keep their head above water against these lower tier teams.
As far as Aaron getting 12 assists, that is no small feat. Many of his assists showed some awareness of where his teammate were
going to be. No he is not Malcolm or TJ or Mark Jackson but if can play like this last game he can run the point.
Going to be some ups and downs.

Sorry if my comments relating to a "classic point guard" sounded sarcastic and if that took the conversation in a direction you hadn't intended. I'm curious what you think we might get from a lineup that included Vic, Brogdan and A Holiday? I'm intrigued at the thought of those three grouped with Myles and Domas.
