Why are the NBA Refs so insanely terrible?

I'm back to the point of not watching basketball any more.

Sure, we can see it was a bad call with a strong zoom from the second deck with no obstructions from our angle, but from where the 3rd ref was, with several players in the way, and they see what they saw? Well, it makes more sense. And I can forgive that. Humans don’t have X-ray vision. They do the best with what they see when they see it.

Agree. I've sat down close before. Those are a lot of large humans moving really fast, and there is a lot of contact. Tough job.

They all miss calls in every sport but I'm talking about inconsistency in the calls. There is indisputable bias toward the "Star" players. With replay clearly blown calls should be reversed as in the case of that game with the Warriors and Rockets KD was almost in the locker room when he tossed that ball back in, the Ref was right there, it's impossible to believe that he didn't see him with both feet taking at least 3 steps out of bounds.
I'm no longer calling NBA basketball my #1 sport. I've been watching MMA. They are about 99% right in all their calls. Once in a while you see a stoppage that seems too soon but it's done to protect the fighter from excessive damage. Maybe the guy could have recovered, but likely he's gonna be getting more damage. Recently I saw a fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, **Spoiler Alert** Diaz had a terrible cut above and below his right eye. Before the 4th round the Dr stopped the fight. Could Diaz have continued? Many thought he could have, he wanted to fight on. I felt like it was a bit early but Masvidal was destroying him. It can be re-litigated at another time in a future fight.
It isn't so much the calls that are missed because the game moves so fast or there is so much going on, bodies in the way, it is the inconsistent calls mostly fouls that tick me off.

Superstars in every sport get more calls. It’s the way it is. Greg Maddox got way more of the corner than lesser known guys did. Brady and Peyton gets flags on any “borderline hit”. It’s just the way “bias” works, or is at least noticed. I’m sure whomever the “superstars” are in your MMA sports boxing thing are probably get some bias from refs and management, such as overlooked drug testing and such, too.

In the UFC the superstars have to prove the worth man on man in the Octagon there are no special calls just fists, kicks and holds best man win s 99% of the time. I've seen some decision that I thought were wrong but stars get knocked out and or submitted all the time!

Except when the drugged up guys get the winsIt also seems like the Dana White favorites get the calls before the matches in terms of preferential treatments, matchups, etc. it’s everywhere.
I’m definitely an MMA hater. I’m a pacifist, but also, I just don’t see an interest in the matches.

It happens that guys are taking banned substances from steroids to other drugs PID's, but they are tested before and after fights. If you win a fight then it turns out you were "Juiced" up the win is voided and the fight called a "No Contest" for the losing fighter. I think the winner should also forfeit his winnings. And Juiced up fighters can get suspensions and or banned. Famous was the 2 year ban on John Jones. He's back now and current champ of the 205 lb division. If he screws up again he'll likely be gone for good.
I'm no pacifist. I trained in martial arts when I was much younger from age 13 till my late 30's but today injuries have kept me from any training other than the mind. I didn't get my injuries fighting it was stupid things like slipping on the ice in the driveway, and falling off a roof, and playing soft ball of all things. But I can still defend myself and will, using my hands which are fast as lightning even at 57. But I've also got my good friends Smith and Wesson at my side.
