hasn't he fully practiced with the Ants and the 3rd unit?

why? he doesn't need to play 30 minutes with the first unit right away. if I were McMillan, I'd start him so he hit the floor fully warmed up, give him six minutes, sit him until half time, and repeat the process in the 2nd half. maybe if he's kicking butt, he'd play some more in the final 3 minutes.
does anyone get in game shape practicing? I think the answer is no which means that even fully recovered he should be on some sort of pitch count to begin with.

I agree, he shouldn't (and won't) play 30 minutes right away.
My comment is more about him being 100% than in "shape". If my star player isn't 100% enough to scrimmage with his own teammates, I'm not sure I want to put him out there in-game action and risk physical (or mental) setbacks if he is coming back too early.

Haven’t seen a single comment that would lend itself forwards or against that. Just, it seems, people expressing optimism or caution. Why shouldn’t they?
If you want medical professionals in a thread, you should’ve seen the post PG injury threads, or anything involving Brandon Ingram or Chris Bosh on the forums post DVT.

My point was we really have no idea what he is doing in practice, rehab, etc. But trying to make assessments on if he's ready or not. We have no clue. Like I can watch a game and say this guy should play more, this guy should take less shots, this guy sucks on defense, etc. I may be really damn wrong but at least it is something I'm seeing with my own eyes.
I'm all for people expressing opinions and all. Didn't mean to come across that way. Just not sure what these opinions are being based on. He's got about 20 days left. That's close to the length of training camp. I'm excited that he's coming back and trust that he, the Pacers staff, and doctors are being responsible with their plan.

I get it, but no one tried diagnosing him, just talking through their “fears” and “hopes”. I mean, we’re not coaches, and we don’t see practices, but we ALL LOVE to talk on this forum as if we were. Kind of the point, right?
