Jalen Lecque is guaranteed $1.518m this year, with next year non-guaranteed. This deal saves Indy $2.809m immediately.

That’s enough to get under the tax if we sign Cassius as our 15th guy at the minimum, his $898k salary.

Sounds like OKC may keep him this year.

Super athlete. Bad shooter. Not really a PG. Think of him as the next Ed Sumner in the development pipeline, but age and inexperience, instead of injury, holding him back. Likely to be thrown in a deal midseason if we are to make one.

Must've been what OKC wanted to give up. Should be an Ant.

He’s on an NBA contract, so he’s a Pacer. Likely to take Alize’s spot up and down I-69 to Ft Wayne though, sure.

I didn't mean he'd have a G League contract. I just meant he'd play mostly there except perhaps if someone is injured.

Man. We broke him, probably. He’s a good rebounder. He’s kind of a bucket getter at his best but inside the free throw line. He should’ve developed a 3, but as time went on, he developed the flattest long range shot I’ve ever seen. If he didn’t home run it in, it was the worst sound you can imagine. Under Nate McMillan we yoyo-Ed guys around in roles, and Leaf suffered especially. He’s commented he’s much more comfortable inside the lane offensively, so he’s really a mobile 5, and no chance at a stretch 4. He’s also a pretty terrible defender. He focused on adding strength and the muscle and weight slowed him down and messed up his mechanics. He should’ve focused on mobility and becoming a 4, but alas. He has a knack for rebounding though, and if you can get his head in the right spot, maybe you can turn him into something in a couple years.

Sounds like the sort of reclamation project a team that's trying to lose anyway can take on.

He isn't that bad actually. He has some glaring weaknesses, but he also has some obvious talents

He isn't afraid to get pushed around in the post, and he can be active at hustling for rebounds, especially those sneaky offensive rebounds

He also finishes well at the rim. My most vivid memory of him is him converting a somewhat acrobatic bucket in transition despite Giannis being all over his face

His problem is he's not strong enough to battle NBA quality bigs in the post on a regular basis, and when he tried to gain weight and strength to do that his game suffered

Offensively, think of him as a poor man's Aaron Gordon, while being much worse on defense

It was just really unfortunate that he ended up on a team with a coach who didn't really care about developing young players. Just a bad situation for him to be in. The change of scenery may do him good. He may yet turn into a useful player if utilized properly. Good luck with him

He's an athletic 5. We drafted him as a stretch 4 and broke his confidence when he only played at garbage time and mostly out of position. He could surprise with a fresh start

He needed to play and get stronger and hone is game but he didn't want to play in the G-League at Ft Wayne. To his own detriment he sat and never progressed. Some complain Old Nate held him back but I don't think the guy was ready to be in the NBA and should have stayed in college.

You can blame the coach but a 20 year old who was lucky to be drafted in the 1st round should have known that he wasn't gonna play a lot with Sabonis, Young, and Turner in front of him. I see it as much that he wasn't willing to do what he needed to do, which was go play in Ft Wayne.
