Uh I did not have this. Curious to see what else Indy gets here. Because this feels gross without something else significant for Indy.

Levert just started a 3 year deal making $16.2m, $17.5m, and $18.8m each year.

My worry is that it was straight up a cost control deal. Oladipo was really bouncing back, too.

Levert is pretty consistently a 43/34/71% shooter overall 5 years of his career so far. Currently averaging 18/4/6.

It seemed like we'd be losing Oladipo so this feels alright to me. LeVert about to have that Pacer's MIP magic. He's a good player.

This deal is dumb, sorry Pacers fans. I appreciate wanting to lock a guy in and he fits the budget, but this feels like a significant downgrade. I have never understood the LeVert hype.

Guess Indy wasn't as confident about keeping Oladipo as you guys made it sound a few days ago.

Congrats on LeVert.

Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bushes.

What a crazy trade. Us being included is out of nowhere.

After the initial shock wore off, I do like this trade. I think anyone who was in the camp that Oladipo wanted out has to be ecstatic. LeVert is 26 and under contract until after 2023. He's an immediate plug and play starter on this team until Warren gets back to full strength.

I'll be sad to see Dipo go, though. After being traded from OKC he really embraced the team and I'll always remember that first round, 7-game series against the LeBron Cavs. This was the year he was finally beginning to return to form. I would've liked to see how he finished the season.

A comparison of Levert and Oladipo so far this year.

Yup. Sounds like we were willing to downgrade for cost control.

But, we solicited offers and got better than Rozier. :dontknow:

I would've rather included Lamb and gotten Prince back, with all things considered. The extra $2m per year wouldn't have been an issue with cutting $4+ million off of Oladipo's deal into Levert's.

I'm really sad to see Oladipo go, but I guess this means that there was some truth to all the speculations about Vic wanting out, because if you really believe he wants to stay, you do not make that trade.

It's a downgrade yes, but Levert is younger, has great potential and can take over Oladipos spot right away. I'm still very happy with the team we've got.

Yeah I would say both are same level of player, but I like LeVert.

Biggest challenge now is do you have enough outside shooting in your starters.

Sabonis - 38%
Brogdon - 45%
Turner - 31% (bad now, but we feel pretty confident this will trend upward to the 36%ish range)
Levert - 35%
JHoliday - 42%

We were pretty good before, and we swapped a 36% shooter for a 35% shooter. I'm not worried about it.

Seems like LeVert can be a decent secondary ball handler and we have McConnell. There are always hints that other teams like Aaron Holiday, maybe we can turn him into a more defensive oriented perimeter player.

Love this move. How can anyone not like this team?

wish we were getting a first rather than a second but have to believe this wasn't done without a heart to heart with Vic.

Ironically LeVert was drafted with our pick which we traded to the Nets for Thad Young.
