Didn't think we could beat Portland (or Brooklyn) short handed but the first quarter was good. Oh, well. A win would have picked up ground on several teams.

I tuned in very late and heard the announcers say the 1st quarter was good and the second plus third quarters Portland put it out of reach. I wish I could have seen more of the game to see the youth play but by the time I was watching it was all subs for both teams so that's more like a G league game. Appears from the box score that LeVert, McDermott, McConnel, and J. Holiday were the only ones not struggling. Brissett added some stats in the 4th quarter but looked like was rough going early. As someone else mentioned the box score reflects that Sumner had a rough go of it facing better talent !

I wouldn't worry about Sumner's future. Next year we should have Warren starting at the 3 and Sumner playing 2nd unit 2. He's ready for that role.

It's also a contract year for Sumner next season
Not unreasonable to bet that he would turn in a career year next season

Definitely 2nd unit for Sumner next year.
