Super small sample size, but he looks to be a long-term keeper. He’s really a pure 4 in style, with the size of a 3. He’s a strong defender, and his 3 point shot is really falling, though it’s falling at a higher clip than to be expected? We’re pretty excited to have found him from our G-League team (and from Toronto’s G-League team the last two years), as we desperately needed any 4.

He doesn’t seem to have the ability to consistently create off the dribble. He’s definitely more of an attacking slasher that can hit the open shot/jumper and is a decent enough passer in a system.

How on earth can a team be this below par in a 1 game elimination game? If I was a Hornets fan I'd be asking for a roster blow up, lack of spirit is always awful.

On one hand, I'm really happy to see our 2nd/3rd tier players like Brissett and Martin, and Sumner and Goga, show they can be productive NBA players

On the other hand, it upsets me to think that the only way most of them will be able to see any playing time is if multiple starters are out with injuries

That's 11 players I think we would like to see become part of the rotation

And that's assuming we don't re-sign Doug, and also not taking into account Aaron, Lamb, Stanley, and our FRP

This roster is just too crowded, KP really needs to try and consolidate talent where possible

There will always be 14 or 15 players on the roster and the end of the bench will not get a lot of minutes. That we have half a dozen guys worthy of 2nd unit minutes strikes me as a good thing not a problem. I do not see the logic of moving starter quality players to make minutes for bench quality players.

We are in position when we are one star away from really competing (much like Toronto before kawhi).

We have good quality depth (assuming we are healthy). I was hoping we could compete with an healthy oladipo but that never happened unfortunatly.

Levert is clearly not the answer, he is not having that much of an impact, good scorer but not efficient enough and not good enough of a defender.

Maybe package him/lamb and maybe Warren to get that missing piece (maybe someone in a position like westbrook last year ? Or a lavine type of player or even someone like derozan (meh)? I dont know which target seems reasonnable or obtainable for us ??).

Or maybe wait another year and hope we can be healthy FOR ONCE ?

I really dont know.

We had so much things going on this year, New coach, levert trade and health issue, injuries... that we dont even know what our team is made of.

What we do know is we have to much players that need playing time and really have to make a decision on who we decide to keep going forward.

We also need one or two defensive specialists, especially one that can guard quick guards and maybe a forward but getting warren back will help tremendously.

I didn't miss it at all. I'm suggesting that the premise that we need to make a deal because we're one player away ignores Warren. now it would be fair for him to say he doesn't think Warren is the answer, but if that's true, wouldn't Warren be the guy you'd try to trade?

Yeah thats why i said we could eventually entertain the Idea of packaging him with someone else to improve our team.

Considering we would be talking about a 26.6/6.3/2.4 shooting 54% and 47.5 from three, no we wouldn't need to look for someone else. But i am quite sceptical.

Wait and see is an option for KP but i think ultimately we'll have to do something and try to get back what we lost when oladipo tore his patella tendon.

I really hope Pritchard makes moves because in the last part of the season our bench has been on view for the whole league to see. The emergence of some of this youth may lead to teams being more agreeable to trading an established starter quality player for a mixed package of our players. As much as I like having a competitive bench to have 6-7 quality starters would be huge. Finding minutes would go back to a different substitution pattern.

I think bubble Warren is a bit of a fluke, though I'll obviously be very happy if proven wrong

That said, regarding the discussion about the missing star, no I don't think Warren is it, at least not in a vacuum, though I have him in front of LeVert, on the list of probable star players on our roster

Looking at it from another perspective, assuming that we are going to build a team with Domas as one of the corner stones, what four other players would we ideally like to surround him with?

To me, the first and foremost player that we need is a off ball scoring wing, preferably an elite one who can also create his own shots, like Bradley Beal for example. He would be an ideal partner for Domas

We've seen how effective the Domas-McBucket scoring machine is. Swapping Doug out for Beal turbocharges that

With Domas at the 5 and Beal at the 2, we'd need a 3nD ball handler at 1. Maybe something like a Lonzo Ball, if he keeps improving his shot. I would have considered Brogdon here, but he struggles with defending quick guards

For the two forward spots, we'd need a good 3nD player to pair with Domas at the 4, probably someone like a Robert Covington or a PJ Washington (though my assessment of him has cooled off quite considerably after his poor outing against us in the last game)

For the remaining forward spot, we're probably looking for someone who's a bit well rounded, so I'm actually fine with slotting Warren in here

End result:

Ideally, we'd still have Goga, the Holiday bros, Sumner, and Brissett off the bench for a pretty solid 10 man roster. Bonus if we also re-sign both TJ and Doug

So trades wise, we're looking at trading:

FRP

for

Beal
Washington
Lonzo

Question is, how do we do that

I'm going to take a crack at my own question above

Maybe we can start by trading Myles to the Pelicans for Lonzo S&T + as much asset as we can get

Maybe something like Myles + Brogdon + LeVert for Lonzo + Ingram + Hayes + #8 + future FRP

Follow up with Ingram + Lamb + #8 + #15 (our own pick) + future FRP (from Pelicans) to the Wizards for Beal

Finally Hayes + minor sweetener to Hornets for Washington
