You could get 1 month of NBA TV directly from the NBA app/league pass for $6.99 if that’s all you want :dontknow:

Maybe not worth it for 3 Indy games, but if you have any interest in seeing the rest of summer league, and some NBA news during trades and signing season, might be the right month to get it.

Thanks. That's an option I had not thought of. I'll look into it.

I have heard it mentioned that, in an interview, Isaiah Jackson didn't sound delighted to be here. Now, he is absent from the summer league roster. Is there a connection?

I haven’t seen any confirmation or announcement that Cheaney was sticking around, but this seems pretty confirming to me.

On Twitter one poster noted the absence of Kelan Martin. I saw a comment somewhere recently that the Pacers had to decide on his status ?

Kelan’s a guy that I wouldn’t really expect to play Summer League at all as a 26 year old going into his 3rd full NBA season of play. Like, Goga is playing in his 3rd season, but mostly because he had the visa issues preclude him his rookie year, and then Covid his 2nd year.

But yes. Kelan’s minimum salary contract is non-guaranteed until August 7th, so we have to make a decision this week on whether to keep him or not. We could always try and negotiate an alteration to his contract to push back the guarantee date to training camp, but giving him some partial guarantee as a payment to do so? Like, give him $500k guaranteed if he’ll come to camp and earn a spot, or we waive him now (hypothetically)? I’d still imagine they keep him and take him to camp, even if they have to eat his deal then. It’s $1.7m total, and he at least provides competent competition in camp.

Jackson will play once the trade can be completed in the new league year per Scott Agness. Just can’t be named on the roster.

apparently the league gave us permission to hold the press conference before he was officially traded to us.

Yes. There was a social waiver for an appearance like that, but no allowance for anything that involves physical activity.

Looking at age 27 6 ft guard Keifer Sykes stats for Australia NBL this past season he shoots 45% from 2, 36% from 3, 86% FT, 3 reb, 5 asst, and why he probably is candidate for Mad Ants 2.2 TO :o. Getting his chance.

Got a real good look at him during the season just gone as he played for my team down here in Australia.

He's a super tenacious defender for his size, was arguably the best on ball defender in the league. Several times went up against Bryce Cotton (who's pretty much universally considered the best guard in the league if not the best player) and defended him better than just about anyone else I've seen in the NBL. He's got absolutely insane hops for a 6ft guy and is a pretty reliable but occasionally streaky shooter. Generally he took care of the ball fairly well, but was prone to frustration and tunnel vision when things weren't going well for the team, I think his TO rate was artificially inflated by a couple of poor games in that respect.

He seems like a super locker room guy too, seemed to immediately step into a leadership role and all of his media soundbites were refreshingly honest. He's got a documentary on Amazon prime about his journey too, if anybody's interested!

Not sure how he'll translate to the NBA given his smaller stature but I'm super excited to see him getting a chance.
