Game 1 @ Charlotte 7pm

Post#1 » by Pacers Forever » Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:54 pm

Not sure who’s in charge of doing this thread. I’ll do it tonight, but I’m not dependable enough to do it full time this year.

Regardless I hopefully (service working) will be watching as it starts at 7pm. Go Pacers ! Should be a tough contest against an equally strong team as the Pacers are.

Sabonis and Duarte scoring easily in 1st quarter. nice lead which could've been more but for turnovers.

only playing 8 despite lead. 75 is a nice start though. maybe we can start the season blowing Charlotte out like we did in the playin.

Yea I would have thought we would have seen Jackson.

Great first half. It’s evident that Carlisle has convinced them to share the ball moving it all around the court. Also nice screen setting. Defense will definitely need work.

Won’t be long before that play is run for Duarte.

Lamb didn't have it tonight and Carlisle must not have any confidence in Oshae yet as he didn't pull Lamb. the rotation may be off until LeVert and Warren start.

too many 3rd quarter issues to list. rebounding was a big end game issue.

What blows my mind is how Carlisle could stick with Lamb and especially at the end. Lamb wasn’t off he’s just not improved his game probably because of injuries. I really thought Myles should have been in more in the second half. He was blocking shots and rim protecting in the first half giving Sabonis help for Sabonis to snag rebounds.

Let's focus on the positives. Duarte was freaking awesome.

Only watched the highlights, but wow Duarte

Too early to start the Reggie comparisons?

This year is decision making time. Players who aren't healthy enough, have to go. Players who don't fit well enough with other players, have to go.

I could type a lot of words why Duarte is the perfect addition for the Pacers for what they are trying to do, but I'll just let his actions speak for themselves.

Everyone else is much of the same. Isaiah with a possible very bright future.

way too early. maybe start Chuck Person comparisons. as good as Reggie was, he didn't rest on it and came back every fall with something new he'd worked on all summer. Danny Granger increased his scoring average by 5 points a year for 4 or 5 seasons which was a record.

I kept wondering all through the second half why they were not using Sabonis in the post the way they did the first half. He was owning that area in the first half. Its like Carlisle decided to call off the dogs, so to speak. Makes no sense to me.
