Also, does the NBA have a rule about having a minimum number of players suit up for a game? If so, could it be that some of our guys have to suit up, even though there would be no intention to play them?

It's obscene.

I'm a long time TimberTroll fan (Worst USA Sport Franchise Ever according objective data), so I should be hardened but this kind of matches makes me hate basketball.

I'll never get why rules allow teams to make trades same day they have to play.

They could as well allow them to trade people in the middle of a game.

Even if they couldn’t make the trade today, both teams would hold all the players out for fear of getting injured and wrecking the deal. It wouldn’t change anything.
