So the Pacers have pulled off 2 huge trades in a week trying to fix the direction of the team. They got younger and received more draft pick capital. Now the question is, what is their next move? Or does the team now wait until the draft and summer to make more deals? What do you think?

Most likely candidates-

Brogdon (in summer) has 3 years left at $67.6 million.
Turner 1 year left at $18 million
Torrey Craig 1 year left at $5.1 million
Ricky Rubio expiring $17.8 million
Buddy Hield 2 years left at $40.3 million
Thompson expiring $9.7 million

I'd say Haliburton and Duarte make a good backcourt couple, but definitely not splendid in the NBA (unless at least one of them surprises us a lot).

Malcolm chances to stay have increased and having 2 playmakers on the court has to be interesting for Myles and his lack of creation skills. Add Waren to the mix and you have to be very curious what the remaining veterans on our roster can bring.

Rubio is a non topic, either getting traded for some value or expiring, Hield depends on which team values shooting (and not much else, so I don't want to keep him), Thompson depends on his mental willingness to play for the Pacers. I would keep Tristan and let the young bigs work hard(er) for their minutes.

It's not that Haliburton is some kind of franchise altering talent

It's just that Pacers have demonstrated that they have the determination to fix the roster

They could have shuffled some pieces around and carried on with the "just wait till everyone is healthy" mantra, but they didn't

Instead they went ahead and took decisive action

That's what's making things so exciting right now

As for what next, that's the exciting part!

There are so many options to pick from

Take the Brogdon question, for example

The obvious answer is to hand the backcourt to Duarte and Haliburton, and trade Brogdon to shore up some other area of the roster

There's also an equally valid argument for keeping Brogdon, sliding him over to the 2. A Brogdon-Haliburton pairing can be intriguing

It's fun to theory craft about this. And other aspects of the roster

Don't know if it will happen but, it would be interesting to face off against a good team playing a meaningful game and we trot out a lineup of Hali, Duarte, Brogdan, Warren and Turner. Fantasy?? Or has that ship sailed?
I'm trying to see how we can make a Cleveland like jump.
Step 1 Hit on pick 1 and take Holmgren. I think he has the biggest upside
Step 2 Extend Turner
Step 3 After that I"m not sure. Pritchard and Carlisle are both smart guys....Right?

It would be absolutely ideal to get a couple games this year with Brogdon, Warren, and Turner healthy and playing with Hali and Duarte. That would help a ton in seeing what they could even be and going forward.
