Re: 2022 Draft Thread
CC has a podcast discussing Ivey. more to come.

EDIT: it opened on Spotify for me. too many people may be trying to open it on cornrows given their bandwidth.

Re: 2022 Draft Thread
This guy was on Caitlin's recent podcast and I found his website and did the free version of the subscription which doesn't give full access. Today I got an email with an article on spacing that was excellent. His latest mock has us taking Davis after sliding a bit in a tankathon simulated lottery. He's much more comfortable with us taking a guard than I am but if we slide that may be what we have to do.

Davis is not an awful player or anything, but I would be very disappointed if he is the best we could come away with. Also, I'm not sure his pick makes much sense for us.

I also hope we do not take a guard - any guard. If we slide below Holmgren-Banchero-Smith-Murray, I'd take a hard look at Griffin and Sochan.

Re: 2022 Draft Thread
Say we are picking 3rd, Smith and Banchero are off the board. Am I right that we are looking at one of Ivey, Holmgren, Sharpe and Murray? Thoughts?
I don’t see Holmgren as the boom/bust guy. I think the rebounding and rim protection will translate. My question, can he defend away from the basket? I’d expect him to be used like Mobley and Jaren Jackson (limited time at the 5). Will he be able to create his own shot? Sounds like he has the mental make up to get the best out of himself.
Is Ivey a fit with Hali?
Can a conclusion even be drawn on Sharpe?
Does Murray even belong in this conversation?

I think if Holmgren is there you take him. I would much rather have Banchero fall to us at 3. I don’t think Smith falls past the second pick.

If we're picking in the top 3, one of the bigs will be there. I can make a case for each of them.
If we're lower, I hope Ivey/Sharpe have pushed a big down, but I'd take a top guard over Murray. Griffin's injury should worry those who think we have taken injury prone players.

Re: 2022 Draft Thread
I have absolutely no issue with taking Chet. Or Banchero. Or Jabari. Or even Ivey. None conflict with Hali, and Hali is the only guy I’d worry about fit with. Brogdon and Turner might not be back anyway. Duarte can play the 2 or 3. It’s just not an issue to me at all. And any of the top guys can help us immediately with their skill sets. And all fit well with Hali.

Re: 2022 Draft Thread
I'd add Sharpe and Maturin. I'm less sure about Griffin and Murray but they shouldn't matter if we're in the top 6. 9th is the lowest we could be and Duren could force one of these 8 down a spot. I think Duren is too much like Jackson to be in my top 9 unless Jackson is a 4. Sochan is a wild cardScoot McGroot wrote:I have absolutely no issue with taking Chet. Or Banchero. Or Jabari. I think Murray will be a better player than Paul George.

According to Scott Agness, Kelly Krasukopf Will represent the team at the draft lottery. If you care about those things.

Those who hate the Pacers drafts should compare the Fever drafts after Tamika.Scoot McGroot wrote:According to Scott Agness, Kelly Krasukopf Will represent the team at the draft lottery. If you care about those things.

Re: 2022 Draft Thread
Kris Murray was one of my sleeper picks for 31 or 58. oh, well. the Murray's are twins and Kris killed IU.

That is a frightening thought. It takes some effort to be that bad.

Sochan and Duren are my later picks if the Pacers drop to 8 or 9.
