Could we get Durant?

Post#1 » by Hamburger » Sun Jul 3, 2022 5:29 pm

The talking heads are talking about everyone but us, but we are sitting on a pile of draft picks and we have players like Duarte and Turner to add. We could make a pretty nice offer, and Durant could try to get Greek Freak love for winning in a small market. Durant, Haliburton, and Mathurin with depth like Jackson might be enough to pull it off.

Uh, no. We could offer the value for him, but we wouldn’t be able to offer a well built team for a championship contender he’d want to play with, and would likely sit out and ask for a trade elsewhere.

He won't go anywhere that someone else has not already done the "dirty work" of creating a high caliber team. He is more of a "let me join your great team" guy than he is a "I want to help build this" kind of guy. In other words, not a leader, but a joiner.

I'm more interested in us potentially being a 3rd team in a Durant trade, maybe one where he goes to Warriors and they send us Wiggins

No chance he wants another title, the Nets "superteam" didn't exactly work out. So he's gonna want to go to Miami but he wants to make sure they have Bam and Jimmy and Lowry so what have they got to give to match salary.

Kyrie is already angling to go to LAL. My guess is the Suns in a sign and trade for Ayton or Memphis maybe.
