Looks like this is on ESPN2.

This one might get ugly fast. Pacer players who are left scored 45 points last game on 42% shooting. Of course I expect York and Nesmith to be hoisting a ton of shots.

First half observations

Nesmith 3 of 10 shooting is horrible did have 4 steals

K Brown 8 points on 3-4 shooting

Nembhard steady

York steady

Boatwright steady

Shittu foul prone but only center

Hinton blah

DiLeo, Brooks, Zeng not much to report

No Samuels or T Brown

Defense sucked over all.

Wizards win 3rd quarter 35-22. Defense sucks. Offense sucks. Don’t see any 2 way candidates unless it’s K Brown and Nembhard. If the Pacers are scouting this maybe they’ll get a decent player from a team that can’t keep one.

After seeing this game tonight I think the Pacers FO has taken a step backwards from last summer league’s roster talent.

Last season they snapped up Washington Jr. with a 2 way and then saw Terry Taylor develop from an invite. I don’t see one player as good as either of them were in last summer league.

Of course this excludes the 2 rookies Brown and Nembhard. Jury will be out for some time on them but they both appear to be solid selections. So no worries there.

I feel embarrassed that they didn’t get any college free agents to develop this year after last year’s successes.

One of 2 paths now is to name 1 or both rookies 2 ways and adding 2 veterans. Second path is put rookies on roster and poach summer league college free agents from other squads for our 2 ways.

I really felt like they were getting ready to upgrade the Mad Ants talent level to be able to develop future bench/role players until I see this group get mauled by the Wizards team which the announcers said was mostly their G league team from last season.

but the priorities are different. this year the bottom of the roster is set and the only openings are the two-ways and the Ants. sure we stunk last night but that was without Maturin, Duarte, Taylor, Jackson and even Washington. we had no size.

really the only roster question is whether Brown gets a 2way or a regular contract.

Yeah, i felt the same way. I tuned in right at 9pm and watched about 20 minutes or so. Between the buzz kill that was the Ayton offer sheet and all the guys getting shut down, i just didn't gather the interest on a Friday night, so i stopped watching.
