Hopefully he accepts a position with the Mad Ants unless the Pacers have a 2 way spot in his future. I’d have to believe Brown will be a 2 way.
Nice summer league stats.

we had Washington's roster spot available. Brown is an athlete with no shot. Sirvydis is a shooter. the Tweet suggests he signed a regular contract perhaps lightly or not guaranteed but not a 2-way or an exhibit 10.

Re: Pacers sign G Deividas Sirvydis
Since Indy just traded Keifer Sykes G League rights for DS’s rights, I’d imagine this deal is an exhibit 10 with $50k or less guaranteed. Any guarantee more than $50k would make him ineligible to be placed with Ft Wayne, and would render that trade essentially worthless.

Good catch. I knew Sykes was traded but I'd not paid attention to who came back.Scoot McGroot wrote:

Re: Pacers sign G Deividas Sirvydis
Interesting we also acquired 6 ft. Point guard Derrick Walton Jr. retuning rights which I’m guessing he will be part of the Mad Ants or not signed later.
Copied from the Mad Ants website news:
JULY 22, 2022 – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, have made a trade with the Motor City Cruise to acquire the returning player rights to Derrick Walton Jr. and Deividas Sirvydis.
In addition, the Mad Ants acquire the Cruise’s 2nd Round Pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft.
Walton Jr. played 25 games for Motor City in the 2021-22 regular season, averaging 16.8 points, 9.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds per contest; his assist total led the NBA G League during the 2021-22 season. Walton Jr. has played in the NBA with Miami, the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit.
Sirvydis spent 21 games with Motor City during the 2021-22 regular season, averaging 12.5 points per game. A former 2nd Round NBA Draft pick of Dallas, Sirvydis has also spent time with the Detroit Pistons in each of the last two seasons. The Lithuania native was most recently part of the New Orleans Pelicans team during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
In exchange for the returning player rights to Walton Jr. and Sirvydis and the 2023 draft pick, the Mad Ants have traded Motor City the returning player rights to Keifer Sykes.

Hmmm found this in the Donatas Urbonas article which supports my original thought on his future.
If Pacers waives Sirvydis, he'll join the Fort Wayne Mad Ants based on the rules of the Exhibit 10 deal.
Indiana also holds an option to keep him on a two-way deal.

Exhibit 10’s give priority placement in the GLeague, as well as a bonus if they spend enough time with the affiliated GLeague team. Also, an exhibit 10 can be unilaterally converted to a one year 2 way deal, or a one year minimum salary contract, before the season begins.

I cheer for this guy, hope he improves and becomes good player, but he infamously got NBA contract because of his powerful agent, whom got a bone from Pistons management at a time. Sirvydis had a long way ahead of him of being any sort of NBA contributor.

Re: Pacers sign G Deividas Sirvydis
Full story seems to say it is a regular contract not an exhibit 10 but since it is not guaranteed there might not be a difference. Scoot can expound.

Yeah. Agness is usually quite inclusive of any language given to him when players are signed. It would be quite odd, however, if Sirvidas contract did not include Exhibit 10 language, as that would be a much lesser contract for him, as he would then get no bonus for going to Ft. Wayne if he's cut in training camp and doesn't make the roster. It also would not give him the flexibility of being converted to a 2 way contract, which could also cost him a lot of money if he otherwise wouldn't make the 15 man active roster.
It's possible it's a non exhibit 10 contract, but it would make less sense for both sides in doing so.
In terms of Agness declaring that specifically, I'm probably sure it's that it's simply not a 2 way contract. Basically, anything that is not a 2 way contract is a regular contract. Exhibit 10 or Exhibit 9 is merely a regular contract that includes certain contractual language. On an Exhibit 10, a player, if waived, would receive up to a $50k bonus (the amount is negotiated before signing the exhibit 10) if they play a certain amount of games (or spend a certain amount of time) with the affiliated G League team. An Exhibit 9 specifically states the player receives NO injury assurances, and if waived, would receive no more than $6k in terms of payout, no matter how sever an injury may be incurred. If a player on an Exhibit 10 is injured while under contract, they either must be carried on the books until healthy, or must be paid an agreed upon injury settlement to be waived. Teams would love to give everyone an exhibit 9. Agents rarely let their clients sign an exhibit 9.

Is there a max number of 10s? Scott's had a separate group of them that didn't include this guy?

Yea. No more than 6 at any time.
Sirvydis’s contract hasn’t been signed or filed with the league yet, so we won’t know for sure until then.

Re: Pacers sign G Deividas Sirvydis
I was chatting with my season ticket holder son last night and we talked about the roster. 14 of 15 spots currently are filled. If rookie Kendall Brown and Sirvydis both become 2 way contracts by season’s start that leaves 1 open roster spot for fan favorite Lance Stephenson.
Of course this only happens if the Pacers don’t fill the 15th spot by making any trades acquiring another contract player they’re keeping, or if Brown or Sirvydis are signed to a regular contract.
Personally I believe they won’t be making any trades prior to the season start.

Could be. But right now, they’re committed to 20, the maximum, for camp. So, Lance would have to be a late add.
But, they are clearly leaving their options open. There’s no other reason they haven’t formally signed their exhibit 10 guys yet, and especially no other reason they haven’t formally signed Kendall Brown yet, unless the earlier reports that Brown was taking a 2 way are incorrect.

Like you said they’ve as recently as last season been using as much time to their advantage to make moves and keeping options open to shape the bottom of the roster.
