A lot less hot takes-ish than he quote, which is the first question Woj asks.

Turner speaks highly of Indy and his teammates. Does sound like he acknowledges his time here is coming to an end, but he definitely doesn’t push it here. He definitely handled it as a professional and was well spoken.

Derek at iPacers has a great write up if you’re looking for pertinent quotes and points without listening to it all.

Some very good clips with Turner. I think you have to appreciate his openness in answering those questions, while at the same time not putting his team in a corner. It is a bit of a tightrope he walked with his answers.

Pacers playing a risky game with Turner. He’s an asset they need to somehow turn into future currency. Last time I felt like the org has failed the fans was when we kept seeing the value of PG drop daily and then it seemed like he was either going to be dealt on the very cheap to the Lakers or walk after the season and the Pacers pulled out a Oladipo and Sabonis out of that trade, so I’ll stay off the ledge and wait it out to see what happens but not gonna lie, I’m nervous about Hield and Turner getting the bare minimum in return.

They could've taken the minimum in August. They didn't. At this point, I'm okay trading him or paying him or losing him next summer.

I'd rather lose Turner for nothing than trade him very cheaply to the Lakers

Yeah, i agree with that. Gotta stay firm. His injury didn't help them out at all either.

Gregg Doyle wrote a hit piece today saying Myles talks big and delivers small and that LeBron and LA media will crush him.

I suppose if there is no other offers for Turner they could trade him to LAL for Westbrick and the 27 and 29 #1 picks, they'd have to add Buddy who is playing pretty well. I'd want max cash back from LAL to pay part of the cost of RW's buyout.

I know Buddy is somewhat blocking the progress of Duarte, but I really hate to see him go. Turner ai hope is traded to anyone other than the Lakers as long as we get fair value for him. I’d even package Brissett with Turner as he’s lost his minutes.

The best asset I’ve seen in most any Myles Turner trade is LA’s 2027 FRP unprotected. Of course that comes with Westbrook. I’d like to think the reason we haven’t taken that deal is because another team has a better offer on the table? And, we are holding on that mystery deal because we don’t see the door completely closed on an LA deal that gives both the 27 and the 29 FRP.

Im still a fan of holding out. One FRP in exchange for two starters and taking on 47 million in wasted salary seems like the bare minimum return to me. At the very least wait till the deadline and let the Lakers pay a chunk of that 47.

It still seems like an awful return, to me.

I joked yesterday that we could trade Turner to the Colts for Ryan. Matt would play the same minutes as Westbrook.

that's all I want to say about the Colts. I'm still pissed about their yesterday's moves.

Yes, I get the value logic for two picks one for Turner and one for taking on Russ contract. Whether they should be protected has been argued for dozens of pages on the trade. The risk for the Pacers is getting to the trade deadline and finding that Myles value is a late FRP. The worst outcome seems to me keeping Myles for the season, him playing us out a top 1-7 pick and then leaving him in free agency. Getting a distant unprotected FRP for a non star level player on an expiring contract is pretty rare.

If Turner hasn’t agreed to an extension before the deadline, he will be traded, for sure.
