Yeah, because another 6'5" guard is what the team needs.

it would be a defensive addition. we do give up way too many 60 point halves.

plus, he's an expiring contract that fits into cap space so we could be asking Philly to pay us to let them dump him here. I don't see the harm if no long term asset is going to Philly.

Yes, you are likely right. I do wonder though, if they might use this to move Goga or another piece. We are at the maximum number of contracts, are we not?

Yes, but Johnson could easily be waived. he's guaranteed and not playing so he shouldn't be upset.

Korkmaz has been rumored to want out of Philly but he has two years left. that we aren't talking him suggests it's a dump.

Niang is also a Philly expiring and he's Haliburton's BFF.

well sure. if there is a trade to be made now that helps the team not just this year but in the long run, it must be made quickly. But I don't care if we climb back into the playoffs this year, and so I'm willing to be patient and make our moves at draft time. I think Pritchard feels the same way excepting of course the receipt of the proverbial offer you can't refuse.

I don’t know. They seem to be unable to play more than 2 of their 5-6 centers, and they’re playing a SF at PF, so I’m sure they’d like to swap a center for a forward, if only for roster balance. It’d likely help the rest of the team developmentally, too. Doesn’t even have to be a long term trade to solve the 3 or 4. Just clearing out some log jam could be a benefit by clearing up the roster.

Not every trade has to be the final answer to solve a problem. Many times they can be smaller deals that just help process he roster and work you ultimately towards where you want to end up.

I forgot they do share an Iowa State connection. He has some size (well, compared to a lot of our guys) and is a good shooter.

I'd rather make it Jalen Smith.

Vanderbilt is in the big trade but we aren't. Oh, well.

Pacers tag onto Laker/Jazz/Wolves deal. Give Hield for Beasley and Vanderbilt.
Lakers upgrade the shooter and give up Vanderbilt who is redundant with Hashimura?

Pacers willl def need to add defensive wings to this team between now and October if they want to legit have a chance at a top 6 spot next season though.

Outside of some minor deal where we flip Duarte or Goga for a similar type player who needs a change of scenery, standing pat is the best course of action for this team imo.

And i doubt Philly lets him go at the deadline anyways, but should be noted, Thybulle would be the best defender on the Pacers according to the FiveThirtyEight raptor defensive rating and it wouldn't even be close. He's the best on Philly with a 4.2 rating. TJM is the Pacers best with 1.2.

Yeah, this is confusing to me. Thybulle is a good defender. He’s not great. He’s a guy that gets a lot of bonus credit for playing the passing lanes and whatnot. His offense makes him almost unplayable though, which is why a championship contender like Philly is benching him, despite defensive stats that look GREAT.

So we still need to wave a third guy now right?
...and the guys we're getting back are not all expiring's right?
So we were already in a bind to find spots for all the draft picks we'll have, and now we're worse off in that regard.
We are even more in need of consolidations.

Nwora is the only one we’re getting that is owed future money, and we waived Taylor, who had future money. Net neutral.

could part of this trade been structured as a stand alone deal that was completed ahead of the rest so someone could have come into Goga's spot and been waived before the rest of the trade was executed so only two roster spots needed to be cleared.

Warriors need a back up center. What is wrong with Goga Bitadze?

Plays a bit slow. Didn’t get a lot of opportunities here.
Inconsistent.
