Those are celebrities? I guess it is just me, but other than the captains, the only one I've even heard of is Albert Pujols.

Hasan Minhaj used to be on the old Daily Show with Jon Stewart. otherwise I'm with you.

I was thinking the same. I only know the captains, Pujols, the 2 NFL guys and Guillermo. Lol

What? I’m the only one that knows many of these people? Simu Liu is a marvel super hero! The Miz is a wrestling and reality show star. Calvin Johnson was maybe the most dominant nfl WR I’ve ever seen play!

The only Marvel super heroes I pay attention to are the ones who look like Scarlett Johansson or Brie Larsen.
The Miz is a wrestling and reality show star.
I hate wrestling and reality TV. Avoid "content creators" or "influencers" at all costs. Also don't care for Hip-Hop or Rap and truth be told, if all the music I had available to listen to was the sort of stuff that fills the Grammy shows, I'd throw away my stereo equipment.
Before anyone says I should widen my musical horizons, my own music collection runs from The Beatles to Bach and from The Moody Blues to Mozart. It does avoid country, though.
Calvin Johnson was maybe the most dominant nfl WR I’ve ever seen play!

OK, that is not bad. You're just younger than I am. Not your fault,

You should expand your musical horizons

I have a hunch you probably thought the same thing of your elders, and they probably felt they were pretty expansive already by listening to BOTH AM radio stations. They also probably thought your Beatles were just “content creators” or “influencers”.

I’m probably older than you think I am? Just, Calvin Johnson was more physically dominant than even a Jerry Rice. If Calvin hadn’t retired young, he’d have threatened a lot of records.

Actually, my family was filled with musicians, including myself. So there was always an appreciation of talent and creativity. Just between my brother, two sisters and myself we covered keyboards, guitars, various horns and woodwinds, and drums/percussion.
Back in the days of AM only radios, ours were used more for listening to distant baseball games at night than anything else.

Both??? WXLW (950), WIBC (1070), WFBM (1260), WISH (1310), WIRE (1430)
and after sundown, we could get somewhere high on the dial WLAC coming from "the top of the Life and Casualty Tower in Gallitin TN." The station played R&B by Black artists - what was called Race Music at the time.
In my experience though we all like the music that was popular when we were in Jr High and High School. I tweeted yesterday that I put the over/under of the number of songs from the halftime show I'd know at .5 and as I expected the winning bet was the under.

I remember, back in high school days before the stations signals were reduced, and the dial not as cluttered, picking up stations down here in Brown County that you can't get anymore. Listening to Larry Lujack and John Records Landecker spin records on WLS and WCFL (both being Chicago stations) or catching WLW from Cincy. Those were music stations then, not the political wastelands they became.

I remember WLS and John Landecker. Was Larry Lujack there also ?
I also used to do the transistor radio in bed nightly falling asleep listening to the Reds play on WLW.
Barely could get Indy rock station on FM where mad dog Jimmy Mateus was on (WNAP? The buzzard ? )during my high school years.
75 miles south of Indy but could get AM stations.

I used to really like this event. If I was running this I would have 8 players doing 2 dunks apiece and top 4 advance. Then top 4 do 3 dunks apiece and winner is chosen from those 4.
I would also make it move faster. 8 players paves the way to a more diverse field and maybe a sleeper as a winner. I presume that it’s hard to get stars to participate so bring in some of the young players already there for the rising stars game.

I honestly don't remember the last time I watched an all-star game, or any of the accompanying events. None of it is really interesting to me.

Last all-star game i watched i think is when Ron Artest made it bc he said he was gonna play defense in it. lol
I usually check out the 3pt contest and slam dunk though. Not sure i'll get there tonight, but usually ill catch it.
